Re: Wesnoth 45000 Era
"Space Marine" while being the term of a side in Warhammer 40k, is also a generic term meaning simply a marine in space and should be perfectly safe to use. Necron, on the other hand, is not a generic term, although a tech based undead race should be fine as long as they aren't exact copie...

I'm pretty sure source is a requirement of the GPL, so no source, then it's not GPL compatible. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Re: Someone is selling Wesnoth on eBay
Actually, if you scroll down to the very bottom of this very long list of game advertisements, he will claim the legal write to distribute the games according to the GPL, then claim copyright for the advertising copy and I think the compilation CDs themselves, but not their content. So technically, ...

Re: Heir to the Throne: Portraits
I for one love the more realistic approach to the portrayal of women in this game and find it greatly refreshing. I should also point out that I say this as a guy. I like the new portrait and think it's exactly what I'd expect a female warrior to look like, in both dress and build. I only wish other...

Re: LordBob's random stuff : trolls !
Considering that I never even noticed them until they were pointed out, yeah, definitely not.em3 wrote: So, yeah. Tusks are here because of the rule of cool, but one shouldn't go over the top with them. I'd say LordBob didn't.

For your first one, the archer does have a face, but the bow string is in the way, so you can't see all of it.

Re: Judgement day?
A It says in the Bible that God helps those who help themselves. Actually, no it doesn't. It actually come from Aesop's fables, which means it would originally have been "the gods help those who help themselves" making it, in fact, a pagan statement. It does, however, say that God expects...

Re: Judgement day?
Now, now, he may be a Christian, no we can't judge the state of a man's soul. He definitely went over the deep end and appears be to trying for a cult like group, but we don't know about the man himself. If he ever trusted in Christ as he savior, and I'm pretty sure he's never said otherwise, then h...

Re: Judgement day?
I'm just annoyed that this is getting some much publicity. It makes us Christians look like fools, even though this guy runs counter to every other Christian group out there. I do find it amusing that he picked my birthday, though.

Re: The Rise and Fall of Arakas - a new Orc campaign
I like this storyline and I like the details of ork soceity presented here. As far as I know, they are consistent with what is cannon about them so far, while providing some interesting new details.

Re: Klingon Localization Thread
I did a bit of poking around, and there does not appear to be any actual copyright on the language itself, at least none that is enforced. There are already published non-licensed works on the market and even an official Klingon language version of wikipedia, and of the Biblical New Testament. Mind ...

Re: Regarding Santa Claus
Other games, like Civ III, have done exactly that sort of thing. And no, you wouldn't have to download a new version of the game just for that day, the code would remain hidden and only switch that unit at that given date. At any rate that was just a "it would be cool if" thought, but I do...

Re: Regarding Santa Claus
Actually that unit would make a great Easter Egg for the mainline game. If played on Dec 25, the rocklobber is replaced by this unit, with identical stats. Doubt it will ever be done, but it could be fun. . .
