Re: Grand Portrait List
I'd like to see my ancient continue to be used, but then again, it's probably not up to scratch any more. Maybe you could do something with it if I sent you the .xcf?

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
Two reasons - the first is feel. It simply feels better for the lure to be brighter than the eyes. The second is a point of logic - the eyes probably shouldn't look so bright they glow anyway, that wouldn't make much sense. It's a minor point, and you could handwave it either way, certainly - but I'...

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
The serpent's lure could do with looking brighter. It feels odd to me when the eyes are brighter than the thing intended to lure prey towards the mouth and away from the eyes. Otherwise, cool.

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
Your two cents are not desired; Pixelmind didn't disappear for that reason; indeed, we had spent some time discussing with him about animating the new Fire Dragon Eternal made.
Re. the Wose, I'd be looking at shrinking the eyes, and making them a much less lurid colour. Otherwise, it's very cool.

II for the sea serpent. Probably I for the Wose, but I would like to see it with something more closely resembling arms.
It's a proper swine to get right with the portrait restrictions though.

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
Once again, the background isn't used in-game...
Whilst the second one looks really good, I don't think it's quite appropriate.

The background isn't used in the game. It's something Bob adds for his own purposes.

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
Indeed - there's really no concern over something as minor as a white mage having some blue on him. The scheme fits very nicely, and he looks great. I love the hair style.

Re: Sleepwalker Animation Commissions WIP - Dwarves
How does it look transitioning into the standing frame? I'm worried that it'll look jumpy, considering the radically different angles of the axe in the base frame and run anims.

Re: Jevyan
That's a coincidence we would all be making this at the same time long after the portrait was finished... I too was working on a Jevyan sprite when this thread was started... I'll post it for the world to see even though Zerovirus already made a awesome one. Lordbob suggested in the portrait thread...

Re: Jevyan
No, it was meant to be PHWOOOOAR! :P (goer can also be (somewhat outdated) british slang for attractive person. Not that I meant that, just to be clear. Zero's sprite and concept looks like an excellent one to pursue. I;d suggest keeping the animations reasonably simple if possible, and ideally, com...

Re: Monsters!
For reference the eye sockets, and various passages and sinuses are BIG. The edited skull looks better, but I'd personally prefer to see it go a little further.

Re: Monsters!
I'd agree. A few tones lighter, but in that general area, fits a long-buried skeleton quite nicely. I'd also suggest a little more research on skulls - they tend to have a lot more gaps and fewer solid areas, particularly on large predators. The muscles have to attach somewhere.
