Re: Needed: Volunteers for The War of Terrador Campaign

/me laughs Yeah, good luck with that. --- Some advice - if I were a coder who felt like making a campaign and didn't want to make up the plot (not that many, or, uh, any of these exist), I would still want to know that the plot was decent and worth doing the coding for. I certainly wouldn't want to ...

Re: Cuttle Fish

Oh, wait, sorry, thought it was one of the Elder Gods. My mistake. Well yes, Cthulhu is not an elder god? which was only some new group of entities by that talentless fanboy derleth Ah, whatever, Great Old Ones. But it's not like the terms are technically precise anyway - they're just human terms u...

Re: Cuttle Fish

CTHULHU FHTAGN! ...uh... Oh, wait, sorry, thought it was one of the Elder Gods. My mistake. Anyway, it looks really cool. I agree with TSI about the flaps on his head looking a bit disconnected. It'd be nice to have his tentacles a bit more prominent also, but IMO it's fine as-is. And I don't think ...

Re: Modified Luck in Source Code

Uhm... guys, no it doesn't. Re-read PawelS's first sentence: My change is pretty simple: the combat damage is multiplied by the chance to hit, and then the chance to hit is set to 100%. So, a 5-4 attack with 50% CTH will do a flat 10 damage, every time; a 5-4 attack with a 70%CTH will do 14 damage, ...

Re: Fl0w

Yeah, I remember fl0w. Good game. The first part of "Spore" was like a stupid version of it (and I think Spore came out later - so they basically took the concept of fl0w and made it less fun).

Re: Forum for writers and storyline?

The main problem with having a designated "writer" is, who wants to be the guy who does the actual work for the campaign - coding it, balancing it, drawing the maps - if he doesn't get to also get to be the one to write the story behind it? I sure wouldn't. You would surely be able to help...

Re: The way to use portraits/images in the default-campaigns.

p.s. wow!! 1.6 released? I just finished testing mine in 1.5.14 last night. But I appreciate developers. 1.5.14 is pretty much the same as 1.6 anyway, except for a bit more art and bugfixes; there's no WML differences between the two, any WML that works with one will work with the oth...

Re: Wooden houses tiles

Note that shadows should point north-west, not south-west; all the other terrain has shadows falling that way, and it's good to be consistent. But looks great.

Re: Cold terrain

Very nice! I really look forward to being able to use this terrain in-game. My only concern is that the keep isn't noticeable as a keep, per se... clearly something's going on in the middle of the castle, but at first glance it looked almost like it was just a ring of six castle hexes with dirt in t...

Re: Generic Orc portraits

AHA! I finally figured out what bugs me about the sword. It's not the hilt, or the blade, it's the crossguard... it doesn't seem like it would be parallel to the blade of the sword. If the line from hilt-to-tip is the Z axis, the line from tip to tip of the crossbar is X axis, and the line orthogon...

Re: The Hammer of Thursagan portrait repaints(update2)

Angarthing (what a name!) pwns. I can't wait to see him colored. Very good choice for how he should hold the mace.

I like the other two as well, but that one's just awesome, so I thought I'd say it. ;)

Re: Cold terrain

I like it. Personally, I'd vote against adding a bunch of spikies and stuff; it'd be nice to have it so that, even if it is intended as an orc castle, it would be plausible also for more primitive humans - there's often situations where you don't want to give them a full-fledged castle, but the enca...

And now it's been officially released, so it actually is completely obsolete. ;)

When will the 1.4 MP server go away? Or has it already been shut down?

Awesome. Though I must agree with bera that the sword looks... odd. It doesn't look straight.
