Re: [mainline] Fix inconsistent races
We can argue over the precise placement of each thing later, I think the general idea should be implemented, then we can take this step-wise: octalot's PR Major Divisions - Animals, Monsters, Beasts, Elementals, Dwarves, Humans, etc. Minor Divisions - Dunefolk, Wood Elves, Nudist Dwarves, etc. As fa...

Re: [mainline] Fix inconsistent races
Yes, so why not do something about it? :) Because it's time-consuming relative to the payoff, and whatever you do will piss off some fraction of the people who notice. That's why it's been around forever, it's not that no one noticed. Did you already have an idea about the help screen? Not one that...

Re: New Graphics System Details
There is a "pixel scale multiplier" option that probably doesn't directly solve your problem, but it does at least allow some control over resolution in full screen. It's on "auto" by default, and doesn't seem to do much outside of full screen, so it might be worth testing out.

Re: [mainline] Fix inconsistent races
As the person who added many of the monster/beasts recently. I should say that I mostly just tried to work within the existing classifications. I'd considered rearranging things in recent PRs, but decided against it because of all the annoying downstream effects of breaking filters, etc. The orc/gob...

Re: elevation with bluffs, gulches and ravines
I'm trying to write a Help topic for this in 7193 Are changes in elevation purely decorative? Are any new rules going to be added to slow down the movement of units across elevations? They are just decorative, unfortunately. Maybe this can be changed with a significant engine overhaul, but that's be...

Re: AI-generated Art
The AI art is extremely useful when you need to quickly generate placeholders for UMC Be careful with that. As far as I know, it's not settled whether AI-remix of internet images breaks copyright. If you download the program and build your own AI models, that's obviously different - or at least I t...

Re: elevation with bluffs, gulches and ravines
It needs to be documented. That's not done yet because I'm not sure if it's in final form, but it's probably close now. It's a little harder to use than other terrain features. Basically, the elevations (arrows) are flood-fill/bucket-fill, bounded by the gulch/ravine/bluff hexes. There are some more...

Re: New saurian units
Looks reasonable to me, though it's hard to tell how significant the tail change will end up being, given the animations and north-facing frames. Looking forward to seeing what you do with those. Thanks.

Re: 1.17 Dunefolk (at least for now)
Thanks, beetlenaut. It's not so much a question of feeling unappreciated (this is a FOSS project, so being unappreciated is part of the benefits package) as it is getting negative feedback that is thoughtless or trollish - maybe the trolls are just trolls, maybe they are getting at something real, o...

Re: New saurian units
My 2 cents: if one had its tail curved downward, it would change the profile and make it appear more distinct. Yeah, a slight change in pose would help. These saurians do move around a lot, so maybe differentiation can be found in the standing animations as well. I've used the Flanker's palette for...

Re: 1.17 Dunefolk (at least for now)
Either way, I know I don't have much to say but I don't think that's mainline quality. You've said a fair amount, not all of it was helpful. I get the message that some people don't like the face, but given the vagueness of the complaints, I don't know if it's because something is really wrong or i...

Re: New saurian units
Judging the level 3 magic saurians by how differentiated they are by testing your add-on in the scenario editor: - The prophet is good as is. The color and hat make it different enough, though maybe the staff could be a little gaudier. - I'm less sure about the seer. This is an alternative proposal ...

Re: Dream in the Sand - Campaign
I'd tried this campaign, and for some reason the graphics keep blacking out, I couldn't get through the prologue. I didn't see anything obviously wrong with the scenario file, and other people seem to be able to play it fine, so it could just be a problem on my end. But if I'm having issues, maybe o...

Re: Horses
Hello alberic89,
Thanks for chipping in. The color-shifted horse images are indeed placeholders, but I'm a little unsure of where you're going with this, what were you specifically addressing?
