Re: Unit stats/attributes

I think you can assign variables to units.

I don't have much experience with that, but you could look at the SyntaxWML page on the wiki.
https://wiki.wesnoth.org/SyntaxWML

Not sure how whether you could use those to affect stats or not, though. Probably, but it might take ugly hacky stuff.

Re: Modifying Core Units

Unit path: yep, argh. (I once had units that would not appear, because I'd put them in a subfolder of units, but hadn't explicitly listed the subfolder in main.cfg.) --- Okay, take the rest of this with a grain of "I'm not a lawyer or professional campaign designer", but... You'll want to ...

Re: Modifying Core Units

I meant that it has scary blue text but the scary blue text doesn't say anything important in this case.

Good luck with your add-on! :)

Re: Modifying Core Units

So the really-simple-looking method was too good to be true. Darn.

Objects (which I have no experience with) are probably the best way to do it, then.

I see that remove_advancement is marked "Version 1.13.2 and later only", which shouldn't be a problem for 1.14.

Re: Modifying Core Units

EDIT: There's a really simple way to do this. When you create the unit on the map (using the [unit] tag), include a line which says "advances_to=Poacher". To quote the wiki... advances_to : comma-separated list of unit types to which this unit can advance. Will override the default provide...

Re: Aragwaithi portrait

May I suggest reposting the portraits/sketches on this thread so they're easier to see? Regarding imagery: do eagles and/or horses have any cultural significance, besides "useful thing to ride on"? If so, those might make more sense than lions. Anything else culturally significant? E.g. ar...

Re: Games like campaign "Descent into Darkness"

If I had to guess? Probably, the creator lost interest and didn't bother updating it. It's still on the 1.10 and 1.12 add-on servers, but it is not on 1.14 and it probably never was. If you're interested, you could try to track down the author, and ask whether a) they plan to update it or b) they wo...

Re: Art for the Return of the Darks

Okay, this is a bit long. But I hope it's useful! I think "angle/ bird view" means that the unit is facing sort of diagonally, and the camera is looking down on him, so you can see the top of his head. All of the units that I'm using as examples are basically in this view, facing toward th...

Re: Wesnoth Fauna

Stag , I can't find the original anymore, it was posted here on the forums years ago I think. Little rabbit , same here, I don't know where is the original. It also has 4 color variations. I recognize that rabbit! It's in the thread Shield's Art , in the Art Workshop. It looks like the other color ...
