[Idea] Extend the in-game editor

Wesnoth has an editor for, I believe, maps. I used to think it was poorly implemented; I think I may have it tried in 2008 or so. But then when I tried it again last year or two years ago, I was surprised that the editor was actually really good and useful. Based on this I would like to propose an e...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

I recently noticed that the ability "struggling", I think, is kind of unique, right? Did it originate from this mod?

For those unaware: I believe struggling makes the target unit's resistance lower, upon a hit. This is useful to wear down an enemy.

I used it to kill Belzeebub eventually.

Re: A New Order

I just played it; have not yet finished it. So far I think this is one of the better campaigns I played in the last 8 months or so. If there is a rating from 1-10, with 10 being the highest (e. g. me being biased, I would give a perfect 10 score only to one campaign, which is "To Lands Unknown&...

Re: An Elvish Scout

The following has some spoilers; guess I will put it into spoiler section: I am having some problem with scenario 3. First I played it at hard, I ran out of time. I think it may have been possible to rush in with scout and champion and kill the necrophage but it seemed to be only possible sometimes ...

Re: AI Needs Immediate Rework

I think this is a general problem with the AI, it can be too predictable and makes too many mistake. Perhaps one day some heroic dev who is bored could re-consider the whole AI. Leave the old code as it is, but try to come up with new AI, in particular with different "strategies". One thin...

Re: top 10 best units

I forgot whether I already gave my own top 10 best units list. However had, after having played numerous wesnoth campaigns, and I have to say I love many units ... white mage for healing ... troll units in general for regeneration ... the dwarven steadfast thing which I think is one of the best tank...

Re: Finally saying goodbye to Wesnoth

People come back too, so perhaps it is just a break. I for one am still semi-idling to power! Soon I may be the oldest account on the webforum *cackles like a squirrel giggles* Others may eventually improve on your prior contribution in regards to the campaigns, so the future will show. Perhaps we n...

[Idea] Customize campaigns on an ad-hoc basis

I have not been active here for a few months due to various issues unrelated to wesnoth, in particular due to reallife. This will continue for some time. I started a campaign but it is hugely beta-ish, vaporware right now. But, I have not abandoned it; I just had to postpone it. I will finish the sk...

Re: Feeding gone MAD!

I am trying this with ghouls or ghasts or whatever the name was for those gaining hp when killing a unit. It's fun to try to fatten these units up. What campaign is that? I can read german just fine but it's quite curious to me how this all looks. I always play under the english variant; somehow got...

Re: How is the in-game editor used?

> You can already do that by creating a scenario in the editor instead of only a map Aha - need to re-check it ... somehow I got distract scrolling through the items ... didn't pay much attention elsewhere as my eyes were glued to the lower right part! My memory fails me a bit ... I don't even remem...

Re: I finished Northern Rebirth on nightmare.

There are always some campaigns that are quite hard. One of the most confusing one to me was a cave scenario where the hints showed one should use footpads due to them being so evasive. Even then I failed to beat that scenario. It's quite interesting how complicated some scenarios can become dependi...

Macro question [theoretical]: gathering useful macros in a standalone file?

Hey there. I am reading through some threads; one of regeneration based on hp percentage rather than e. g. +4 or +8 hp. The code may look like this or so: #define ABILITY_REGENERACION_MENOR [regenerate] value="(hitpoints * 0.05)" id=regeneracion_menor name= _ "regeneracion menor"...

Re: Grand Portrait List - 2020 update

In regards to the first two notes in this thread: are there URLs to the image(s) available? Just asking - not wanting to delegate extra work onto others. But I don't see images. Should there have been images associated with the portraits or is the listing meant for something else? Slight confusion h...

Re: Uprising in Hratie [Placeholder for shevy's first campaign]

(Please excuse the weird format ... I first typed this in a local editor so the newlines are a bit off probably...) So ... I am still in the preparatory stage for this, but I have specified a few "background" related things story-wise already. Although I more "officially" will st...

Re: Uprising in Hratie [Placeholder for shevy's first campaign]

Hey there Durzi - I made a local note so I don't forget your comment above. I'll integrate feedback and flesh out more details. Right now I am still in the planning stage, kind of, but started to work a bit on the story. Let's see how it goes. Once I have a skeleton ready (or a bit more) I'll ask fo...
