Several of our mainline campaigns are in the works for upgrades at the moment, which includes adding characters and enhancing existing scenarios. We are looking for more artwork to supplement these upgrades, including the following:
We are happy to announce that Wesnoth is now able to accept donations on Liberapay . While Wesnoth does rely on the work of dedicated volunteers, no project can function completely cost-free. Revenue from the Apple App Store and from donations goes towards maintaining our servers,...
There have been numerous important forum posts and wiki articles written by users and developers. We reference these pages a lot, and decided to put them together in a convenient list.
Write clearly, be nice to others, and be very careful when posting anything related to politics or religion. When asking for help, remember that everyone here is a volunteer. Prefer editing your previous post over double posting. No animated avatars or graphical signatures. Don’t plagiarize other’s...
I have implemented a change which will appear in 0.6 to units with no traits:
some units that join the party voluntarily do not have traits. This makes these units inferior to units recruited, and makes the player wonder whether they should be developed, or just used as cannon fodder.
Heh, choke point for a 4-to-1 numeric advantage. Now if only bankruptcy did something for the AI...
My 12 gold per turn are holding off 35 gpt's worth of units. I get 20 healing points a turn, and have a forced 1-on-1 engagement area. Now if I could only find that *#€! Scept(re/er)!
i'm trying to make a Wiki page to work like a documentation page. ...ok, actually i have to convience the guys at work to make it, since i'm not a webmin here. :?
anyhoo, i wanted to ask which wiki flavour are you guys using, and how much work did you put into it to make it look that nice. also...
Contains a basic map editor which kinda works. If the map editor crashes, or has bugs though, I don't really want to know. We are looking for a volunteer to work on the map editor.
Basic instructions for editor:
- will ask you to save on exit
- press a number - 1, 2, 3 etc, to set a starting...
First off I'd like to say how much I like this game, its very addictive!!
I have downloaded the Tarball for version 0.5.1, what is the CVS version? am I right in thinking that it is the developmental version of the next version 0.5.2.
And from reading the chnage logs it will have a load of new...
That said I have a few questions, comments, etc. (Note, until Debian is fully restored I'm running the game on an XP box using the 0.5.1 binary and NOT the CVS so I apologize if these things are no longer relevent)
Just a small idea, but I wonder if it'd be possible to make it so that you can name units that you recruit and hold their name through campaign levels?
It might be a good feature, as it would make people connect with the sub characters more. I find that I care more about the characters in the...
So far I've got one map, five new units and half a scenario coded. I've got ideas for about five scenarios. But I have to ask...
1.) Are the campaigns meant to be consecutive (ala Starcraft) or starting in the same point and each side winning (ala Warcraft)?
2.) Are there any rules I have to...
Aloha! I just wanted to take the time to thank and congratulate all those who contributed to the creation of this wonderful, beautiful, , but most of all, unbelievably fun game. I must say that when I first stumbled across this game on Versiontracker.com, my expectations were not terribly high;...
I played the latest Windows bits quite a bit this weekend. I was pretty impressed by the game overall, but there was one major issue that finally killed my interest.
I set the difficulty to Easy and played through the first couple of scenarios without too much trouble. Then I tried the...
I think it would be nice if you had all units and their advancement listed on the website. Might be a little early though as the game still changes quite much.
Hi, just downloaded the game, looks nice but am I supposed to wait 2minutes of computer moves everytime i do end turn . I found one switch in preferences that made it a bit faster, but its still way to slow.
After playing Wesnoth (.5) significantly, I have noticed that the AI tends to concentrate its forces at certain parts of the map while completely ignoring other ones. For example, on campaign two, after sending a minor force of about 5 units to the Eastern half of the map, the AI then proceeded to...
I would like to thank everyone involved for this pleasant game. I have just finished (version 0.5) and it provided lots of entertainment. It sounds like you actually want comments and feedback, so I will comply.
I actually made it to the Valley of Death on my first game, without...
why don't old save-games (0.4.8 in this case) work in the 0.5 version? are the story and/or the names of the scenarios that different?
and i hope the 1.x version will use binary save-games ...because text-based saves are just too easy to crack (not that i do it, but i see it can be done VERY...
i've seen (actually my brother noticed it) that if you place a unit into a vilalge, save the game and then load that save, the unit in the village can move again ...i think that glitch should be sorted out
my brother (windows gaming addict) stopped playing Halo on his winXP to play Wasnoth on my Linux install :D
well, here's the thing: he's been bi***ing about the luck of the computer player's units, claiming that the game cheats ...well, i have to say that the computer's units really are lucky...
I was wondering, I think everyone who's ever played any game wishes to change this and that. So, I was thinking, how about if we posted our 'wish list' for Wesnoth.
These ideas are NOT proposed for addition, and this thread ISN'T for discussing them. Most of them are probably on...
