Several of our mainline campaigns are in the works for upgrades at the moment, which includes adding characters and enhancing existing scenarios. We are looking for more artwork to supplement these upgrades, including the following:
We are happy to announce that Wesnoth is now able to accept donations on Liberapay . While Wesnoth does rely on the work of dedicated volunteers, no project can function completely cost-free. Revenue from the Apple App Store and from donations goes towards maintaining our servers,...
There have been numerous important forum posts and wiki articles written by users and developers. We reference these pages a lot, and decided to put them together in a convenient list.
Write clearly, be nice to others, and be very careful when posting anything related to politics or religion. When asking for help, remember that everyone here is a volunteer. Prefer editing your previous post over double posting. No animated avatars or graphical signatures. Don’t plagiarize other’s...
I'm in the middle of my work translating wesnoth to Brazilian Portuguese and I'm wondering where some strings are show or used in the game.
Most of them came from the file data/hardwired/english.cfg .
I have noticed that in 1.9, the translations are farther behind. For example, in 1.8 the German translation is 100% complete. In 1.9 it's 88.46%. And not because of Dead Water being Mainlined, but for some other reason. Another example, Legend of Wesmere in 1.8 is completely translated, while in...
EDIT: Har ändrat rubriken, eftersom jag tänkte använda den här tråden till att diskutera enskilda termer, i motsats till 'Översättning till svenska', där jag publicerar hela swedish.cfg med jämna mellanrum.
I översättningen har tidigare (var det med när jag...
Hello, I've played BfW for about 2 years now, so I decided to give something back. I would like to continue translate BfW into Vietnamese. So the question is: Where sould I start ? Can you give me some instruction on how to translate it?
Thanks in advance :D
I want to make my campaign translatable. The wiki told to 1, use underlines and textdomain directives (what I have been doing right from the start), 2, add a translate= true line in the pbl file (what I did then). After that, I updated the campaign on the add-on server.
Many languages (like Romance and Slavic languages) use nouns that have a gender. Wesnoth already allows me to translate abilities, and traits depending on whether the a unit is masculine or feminine, but this does not work all the time, since it is assumed that all nouns are masculine and there is...
What with the coming of 1.9.6, and the addition of the Khalifate to mainline, my translating self is wondering how to translate all of the very Arabic unit names into non-Semitic languages. :hmm: As I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering, I figured I'd start a thread here. For those of us...
So, after I learned that UtBS is up for major changes I'm dropping (or rather halting) that project, and moving on to The Hammer Of Thursagan. It figures to be not-so-easy, and that gets me pumped.
Anyways, first question: how would you translate Dwarven Doors ? The Doors part is easy, but since...
This thread is meant to guide any kind souls who'd like to help with the internationalisation of our multiplayer Code of Conduct (CoC). To make sure they get it right.
It should be noted that this endeavour isn't technically a part of the project.
I have been using Nereiad (sea nymph) to translate mermaid/merman (actually I use an adjective formed from it so as to have male and female versions). Now the new description of the Siren says that she could easily be mistaken for a Naiad (river nymph), which would be really silly for me to...
What is the right way to translate this? I have the string unit^gold under translation here, and it gives me three different tabs under which to translate it. Why is this? What does it mean? This is not the only string like this. How should it be translated?
I'm sorry if this is a wrong place to ask, but in the first version of Wesnoth I have played (0.8.8) Lancer and Nightgaunt were translated as Jezdec s dřevcem and Noční děs . However, the recent versions (I have 1.8.4 currently) leave their names in English. I notice there are other units with...
What exactly should you do with all these unit names for the Markov generator when the language you're translating into (Irish) uses primarily Roman letters? Should I leave them as-is? Or should I change the spellings?
How does one use Poedit's translation memory to auto-translate the same words over and over (like sword, bow, and spear) again? Poedit says it has this feature, but I cannot seem to figure it out even after reading through the help. Anybody out there know how it works? Thanks.
I would take my following questions:
I walk into the statistics page of the translation (in my case, this:
Then I choose a translation without progress, choose, say I'm translating it and then how do I disclose it?
german:
Ich habe nach einigem Spielen die deutsche Ãœbersetzung etwas korrigiert und erweitert. Der Diff ist im Anhang; Grundlage war die CVS-Version der de.po.
english:
After some games I corrected and enhanced the german translation a bit; attached is a diff to the CVS version of de.po...
Ich habe gestern die erweiterungsliste angesehen und war echt ratlos, ich habe 12 erweiterungen heruntergeladen aber nicht mal die hälfte hat funktioniert. :(
Könnte hier vllt jmd einige empfehlenswerte erweiterungen posten (auf deutsch), mit einer kurzen beschreibung?
I cannot find the translation folders in the mainline campaigns? Does anybody know where they are?
Looking at the translation files for some UMC add-ons, I could not make sense of them. The text was packed, with no apparent order. Any help with understanding it, and how to make one?
I would like some help for Hungarian (magyar nyelv) translation for the new edition of the Fate of a Princess campaign (UMC). If anyone is able to help me, I will appreciate it really.
On the new edition, which is not on the server, yet, many of the dialogues have been edited by co-autor,...
hello! I'm french and I want to help to translate battle for wesnoth in french. My problem is that I'm not very good at computer stuffs (.po files and so on...).
is it possible to help to translate and to send it with a more simple way? for example to send me by mail some texts to translate and I...
If you've got a longish section of text, such as a unit description, with two or three unrelated parts each deserving of explanation, is it preferable to have one #po comment explaining all the issues, or several #pos, one for each topic? Does having several #po comments pertaining to a single...
