Several of our mainline campaigns are in the works for upgrades at the moment, which includes adding characters and enhancing existing scenarios. We are looking for more artwork to supplement these upgrades, including the following:
We are happy to announce that Wesnoth is now able to accept donations on Liberapay . While Wesnoth does rely on the work of dedicated volunteers, no project can function completely cost-free. Revenue from the Apple App Store and from donations goes towards maintaining our servers,...
Please make sure to read the wiki page regarding how Wesnoth handles copyright. Not reading on how Wesnoth handles copyright does not prevent the information stated therein from applying to everything posted to this forum.
There have been numerous important forum posts and wiki articles written by users and developers. We reference these pages a lot, and decided to put them together in a convenient list.
Write clearly, be nice to others, and be very careful when posting anything related to politics or religion. When asking for help, remember that everyone here is a volunteer. Prefer editing your previous post over double posting. No animated avatars or graphical signatures. Don’t plagiarize other’s...
There are certain technical requirement for mainline portraits. For easy access, I'm going to sticky them here so people can read them and link to them rather than having to type them out every time they're needed.
Generic unit portraits:
Two sizes are needed. One goes in the help, one is...
Welcome to Battle for Wesnoth's Art Forum. This is where a lot of our in-game images get hammered into shape, and is a place designed for the discussion of art designed for use in our game. In this topic, we've listed all the info you'd need to do your own work.
Is there some sort of archive for image files for the game?
Obviously there are the png's that come with it, but it seems that many of us use GIMP (or Photoshop?) and presumably therefore make heavy use of layers. Keeping these more complex files around would make building new units off old a lot...
Okay guys, I started to work on the human castle, and I'm really excited about this :) I'm gonna do it two ways. First as an multihex object that's taking up multiple seven hexes (keep in the middle, and six hexes surrounding it) and will do the castle as separate hex too, in case map designers...
Ok, I have been using open source things for over a year now, and I always liked the idea of open source, but I currently know little programming. After playing for a few days, I am really getting addidcted to wesnoth and am wondering how I can help since I could possible do some art and music.
This is an orcish spearsman based on an edit of the orcish archer. The other one is the same, but with a hook at the end of the pole (i think that was an actual weapon) The tunic looks too saturated, i think, but other than that I think you might want to use it. I think it would be weak but do a...
when the units attack some kind of black square apears around them, looks like the transparenty doesn't work. Can't provide any screenshoots couse the squares just flickers. Running latest cvs on linux.
Is there a wiki page, or any list, for this? I'm busy drawing a Revenant attack frame (my first ever sprite drawing) and I'm wondering what else there is to do apart from the Elvish Marshal and Wraith.
Ok I moved my lazy bum and started to use that cool Wacom tablet I got for Xmas.
This is a schetch for the starting screen, Konrad in his last day before attaking the capitol city of Wesnoth... (city not there yet)
The original is larger but I left plenty of place to put the game name and...
My name is Ricardo Keops Chirino, I'm a 19 year old graphic design student from Maracaibo, Venezuela, currently specializing in developing pixel art skills. I'm a member of the Pixelation community (a forum dedicated to pixel art), where I learned about this amazing project. I'm here to let...
Some of the samples when a unit gets hurt plays to early, I noticed that I heard the Ouch before the magic missile found its target, I think this is the same for many other ranged attacks too (maybe melee too havn't checked it that close)
Here we go, this should fill the requirements nicely. I'll get started on the defense pic next. Due to a wee scaling problem, I ended up giving his bow an appearance somewhat similar to that of a Japanese longbow, i.e. longer atop than below.
And just for kicks, my try at an original Wesnoth style...
Hello users of the wesnoth forums+guests.
Today, actually less than ten minutes ago, i joined here too. I really like battle for wesnoth and i hope i will be able to contribute much to it with what i can. I do art and coding, art is my strongest side. I have made some midi tunes too, but that was...
we are working to get bugs fixed and making a release, if you want to get some graphics included in the next release now is time to get them finished. Still, we don't have any schedule. IIRWIIR
Slainte has agreed to build u$win binary when it is time.
Hopefully this'll prove useful: I've provided an attack frame for the dwarven lv. 1 melee guy. I had a little trouble figuring out how best to angle the attack, but I think I've done alright with it.
Hmmm.. really need to work out the transparencies on this: It just looks bad on black...
Here is a first attempt to draw an orcish ruler. Not finished yet but close to its final state. I may work on the axe and I will fore sure change the cape. Perhaps other minor tweaking.
Any comment is welcomed :). I will post it to pixelation soon as well.
I wanted to do some werewolves, but it turned out that their heads were a little too much like rats heads :? . I post there only the first one (and only the normal stance), who is the best of the bunch. (The others are not scanned yet.)
I just want to ask everyone what they think about it. Does...
I'm writing a mountain scenario that need some more tiles, that is snowy forests and hills. Here are quick&dirty gimped tiles. They look a little bit crappy but I have no time to do better tiles right now. Perhaps in the future.
Tiles are attached (zip file), tar.gz upon request.
Here are two proposals. Copy/paste work from the excellent pieces of fmunoz.
The first rider is the one from the Paladin sprite. If I noticed corectly, according to the pointy ears, the Paladin is an Elf. So I thought that would be reasonable if the Gryphon Lancer get such rider. And I love...
At the moment, we are using black as our transperancy colour. This is because Wesnoth originally used bmp files, which I don't believe support transperancy. PNG supports transperancy, and as such, I am planning to move over to using PNG transperancy, instead of black.
We are in desperate need of more artists. We are in dire need of people willing to work on,
- animating units. We have many units that are unanimated or partly animated.
- drawing new units
- drawing terrain
- drawing large images for storyline sequences, the title screen, and other purposes.
I'm working on some scenarios featuring orcish hordes. I need some more units, including orcish mages , so I made a new sprite for it. Any comment or suggestion is welcomed. :)
Note this is my first attempt and it is not finished yet (it still looks too human for me).
When the enemy commander on gryphin mountains gets attacked by ranged weapon (havn't tested melee) there is soma strange thing happening with the sprite.
