Questions about DiD

1. In DiD, two similar names are mentioned. One is Zephryn, the other is Zephrin. Are they basically the same person? Or related? Because Malin says, “That mage’s name is suspiciously... familiar.”

2. The women at Wesnoth’s frontiers learn to use the staff. Is this STAFF the same as mages'? I thought a staff in this game is used to wield magic. It troubles me a lot when translating it into another language.

For question 2, it's a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quarterstaff. The Frontier Baroness unit seems to be a copy of the Wesfolk Lady from The Rise of Wesnoth, but that only helps if TRoW is already translated in your language.

It seems the different types of staffs share the same text "staff" in wesnoth-units. That might not be good. But anyway, thanks for you letting me know the name of that staff.
