You could try replacing Uu^Uf with another code in the above file; you can try with Uu^Tf (not recommended :( ) or Uu^Emf or Uu^Ufi; they are the closest to the original.

The terrain code is still usable in the 1.14 map editor. It was removed for 1.15.
The error here, however, is due to the map generator in the scenario file being no longer supported.
It's stated here. (last paragraph, above the YAMG gen heading)
Note that I opened bug #5293 about this. (I already told Lord-Knightmare previously; this is just for the benefit of other people reading)

So, I fixed the map generator bug and am now up to S18 (The Investigation) in my playthru... I'm kinda wondering what I should do once I get to the "end" (as it currently stands)? Should I try finishing writing the missing scenarios myself, or just upload it (to the 1.14 server) as-is once I'm done with the existing scenarios?

Should I try finishing writing the missing scenarios myself, or just upload it (to the 1.14 server) as-is once I'm done with the existing scenarios?
As the current maintainer, you're somewhat obligated to present a satisfactory ending to the campaign. However, how you achieve that is up to you. I would suggest uploading the 18-scenarios to enable feedback so you can improve on the existing scenarios and then gradually proceed with the remaining scenarios.

OK, so I have completed going over the original 21 scenarios that were already finished before I started editing this campaign, and I can say they're all safely ported to 1.14 now. How should I go about uploading it to the add-on server? Should I ask Anonymissimus for the original _server.pbl or write a new one?

What's his handle there? The autocompletion for handle suggestions doesn't seem to know about any "Anonymissimus" there...

OK I got it worked out; The Earth's Gut is now available on the 1.14 add-on server!

Playing on Normal difficulty. Wesnoth 1.14.14 (Mac OS X)
Intro Cutscene
This could be made more appealing by utilising theme=Cutscene_Minimal
This still uses the old map from 1.10/1.12. Maybe change that for the new one (like the one on the main menu)?
The scenario names could be...more conventional (maybe like: Towards the West Gate)
Scenario 1
  • No Dwarven Scouts as recruits :(
  • I exploited those patches of lit hexes and butchered the orcs.
  • Hamel with Level 1 leadership is useless. Level 2 Hamel is cool.

Scenario 2
  • Chose to continue my slaughtering and subjugation of the Orcish race
  • Thank you for the loyal mage but I am skeptical why she was kept a prisoner rather than killed off.
  • Gave ring to Hamel (obvious choice)
  • The 'Usual Monster"? Killed my immersive mode.

Scenario 3
  • Didn't give away my gold. That yeti can kiss my axe! (and he did)
  • Took northern path but milked the bandits for XP

Scenario 4 - Blowing Snow
  • Scenario difficulty is amazingly poor. On Normal.
  • Mobs presented no challenge at all
  • The thing with Dulatus disappearing was rather...weird. How does a Dwarven Sentinel with 4 MP standing near the Direwolf leader's castle get all the way near the chasm in a fraction of a section? It's very silly.

Scenario 5
  • This one gave me some trouble as I had less units available for recall.
  • Those spiders were very pesky.
  • TC of Ice Troll unit is broken.
  • team_names for the enemy sides are all cave_occupants
