[solved] Continous unit idle animation is annoying
New continous idle animation is rather annoying in my opinion.
It was introduced in 1.9.x and currently it affects at least spearmen (you can just start ToTB campaign to see how strange it looks).
Please add an option to turn it off at least ('idle animation frequence' has no effect).

Re: [1.9.5] Continous unit idle animation is annoying
Those aren't idle animations, they are standing animations.
That said, an option to turn them off would be nice.

I agree that the animations are irritating because they are on the same continuous repeat loop,
but the feature on the game preferences which stops the animations is great but we could work
on a program which could make the animations with more diversity for the people who like them.

Re: [solved] Continous unit idle animation is annoying
@Rapture: That can already be done in AnimationWML.
Re: [solved] Continous unit idle animation is annoying
Good I should organize a team then to start working on the improvements for certain animated units.

Reason: Removed colors (yet again). This is your last warning.

Re: [solved] Continous unit idle animation is annoying
@Rapture: Here's a thread about such things. Though you should probably post any animations in your own thread first and see how the Art Directors like them. And artists generally don't work in teams around here.

Here's some advice. Don't try to do everything at once and go easy on the "let's set up a team". Saying this is always easy, but the better idea is to actually start doing something and then share it, get some opinions, and maybe some help by others.
What helped me a great deal in the beginning was, you know, just lurking for a time. See how things are handled, see who are the people to address in different fields.
If you don't have the time to do so, wesnoth in general is maybe not for you.
Edit: And seriously don't mess with Gambit. He's got a screw loose or something

This is very good advice. I lurked for about a year and a half before I actually joined. This gave me time to learn how things work here, who's in charge of what, etc.HomerJ wrote:What helped me a great deal in the beginning was, you know, just lurking for a time. But... do you have evidence to support this claim? He seems pretty sane to me.HomerJ wrote:And seriously don't mess with Gambit. He's got a screw loose or something

I think he was referring to Gambit's forum title

What I respect is why HomerJ made the nice advise to Rapture on this problem-solved thread with a nice joke.
Hopefully, Rapture can understand his warm-heart... (deleting and editing buttons are at right bottom.)

Thanks Sky One your a pleasant fellow, and I agree with the stated advice that I should read
the forum rules and past posts to get a better understanding of how the community works here
and organizes themselves, it will be a joy working with you fine people, I will submit my work
once I have read up on things, hopefully in one or two months time because I have a lot going
on in my life at the moment and will commit to wesnoth in my free time which will be fun.
Also I hope that you guys got lots of work done today and the graphics on wesnoth concerning
mostly the terrain and buildings is looking fantastic I think the next phase we should look into
is how to improve the drakes design and make them appear more ferocious and eye-catching.
