As per normal, the Mac binary will have to wait until Monday morning :-(

We were just playing a 5 people match on the server today when suddenly the server vanished and we could not reconnect to it. Did that have something to do with today's update to 0.7.1?

=^_^= Oh well, guess we had bad luck today.

Uhh...possibly. Apologies. I guess we should check if the server is being used before killing it like that!

For 0.7 it is recommended that you use server.wesnoth.org. I am hosting devsrv.wesnoth.org and while it is quite stable there are no guarantees given for it. e.g. if I decide it needs new kernel it will have new kernel and there will be reboot. And as the name says: devsrv -> development server.

compile problems with 0.7.1

Post by gandalf »

Hello, with Debian Linux 3.0 and gcc 2.95.4 I can't compile wesnoth 0.7.1.
I've attached the errors.

With gcc 3.0 I get internal compiler error.

I had weird problems with gcc 3.3.1 on the CVS version just before the release of 0.7.1. - the game compiled fine, but would "hang" immediately after the first attack round.
After trying various alternatives, upgrading to gcc 3.3.3 fixed the problem.
See the "CVS problems" thread in the "Technical Support" forum for more details.

No guarantee it will fix your problems, but it's probably worth a try.

There have been reported troubles with Wesnoth build with gcc 3.3.1: solution seems to compile with latest stable version of gcc - which at the moment is 3.3.3. Well, usually you want to use latest stable anyway (let that be compiler or Wesnoth) *grin*

Submit a true bug report, the URL to do that is http://bugs.wesnoth.org -> Submit a bug.

If you post something to forum it is possible that they are not noticed or they are forgotten as time passes. When bugs are submitted correctly they are open (and remind us) until they get fixed.
