As a vampire, I was surprised I could take over the church right away. Or visit light temples, but not ruins.

I was really surprised when my first encounter was 2 L5 dragons and 5 L3 drakes.

I can recall a mage of light (researcher - from my castle?)???

A trap in the batcave left me petrified - game over then? No, I have no consumables, etc, at this point.

In the HC armour store, apprentice cloak says -0 MP, but in inventory it says -1.

In Encounter.cfg you have messages with speaker=Trader - should be "you"?

I have fish pieces and wood pieces, but when I try to make fish on a stick it always says "you have made 0", and my fish count does not go down. Same with shashimi.

I can make fish soup in the oven, even though I have no sashimi (assuming the above message is correct).

But as there are a few monsters that can petrify this is intended to have access to your inventory. Other than that, yes it is game over. I left it in the game, as this is what traps can be - deadly.

I can't take pango if I have no consumables.

I CAN make fish soup, even though I have no sashimi. Pretty sure the recipe said sashimi, not fish (though I had neither at the time anyway), but I can't go back and check as the saves overwrite themselves.

EDIT: I DO have sashimi, though every time I tried to create them it said I created 0.

Than you are screwed, except you have a spell to cure it. So its game over. Or load the game.

You are making sashimi out of fish. I could now check for 22 different fish and if you have them and make the option to make sashimi disappear.
But I don't I'm checking in the moment you hit the button. Same about making fish sticks.

I've checked: The "fish" that is displayed in the ingredients says: "Fish: $sashimi|" So behind fish is not a number fish, but sashimi.
But its the same with Meat, which doesn't show the good meat but meat_slices as well as "Spices:" which shows $pinch_of_spices|.

Okay, I see the problem. If you go to the outlaws (for example), and buy 3 fish, you get fish=3. Now try to make shashimi or fish on a stick and you can't, because you don't have any cod, or catfish, etc. You have just plain old "fish".

If you look carefully you can see that there's a difference in the HC fish market, but really this is just plain confusing. Supposedly, I need fish+woodpiece to make fishstick, but not really, I need cod+woodpiece (or some other type of fish, but not fish).

Also, in the HC fish market, if you have no specialty fish and you try to sell, you'll get no gold but your count for whatever specialty fish they are selling will go negative.

Thanks for testing. I think due to the change of the words, I needed to improve some of the interface as well.

I will make an update: 1.16.24.2 - uploaded

This will feature the following changes:

- updated the ingredients that are shown in the oven and in the helpmenu
- added sushi, fried_egg and fried_fish as dishes including icons
- sushi can only be made by master cooks and is one of the best foods in the game
-- I know that sashimi could be considered as sushi itself, let us assume that only with a high skill he is able to turn the fish into a real sushi dish
- fried fish is an average food and needs pinch of spices and an oven to be made

- to avoid misunderstanding: the option the craft sashimi from single fish now just shows in the oven and the fish box
- enhanced description of turning single fish to sashimi
- fish on a stick will now just require sashimi, I will however keep the icon
- fixed the bugs when selling fish (indeed - good catch uncle)
-- you can sell fish even so you have only 1
-- it will only substract fish that you had
- fishbox will now show the number of sashimi and wood pieces you have
- you can now get mushrooms,tomato in the Forest when gathering
- as well as waterbottle (snow),roots in the Winter Forest

Water sometimes takes up no space on your cart (probably got it from the well at my house). Of course, the whole cart thing is still broke, as I often end up with, for example, an empty cart but something like 18/20 or 25/19 spaces available ("dump all goods" fixes).

After using a tent in a storm "The tents" > "The tent". Also, "than" is used correctly!

If you can't afford fish at the market "a enough" > "enough"

Thanks for your feedback, once more. The space dilemma is a little bit frustrating, as I never encountered the problem for years during my tests. So I never rechecked. Most of the effects that change space are macros, so there shouldn't be a problem with these, but maybe with other features inside the game, that change the space, but not the max-space. The fallback is, as you said, to us the option - dump all cargo (Throw away all goods!). This will reset any problems considering the space.

Well now, the well seems fine. It is a very simple piece of code during the start of that campaign. I however improved wording and icons.
For a short time, I was motivated to change the code and add barrels to the game, which are need to transport the water, but nae (Scottish).

As for the typos, thanks. My stress level is currently very high, so these things will continue to happen, as well as missed words and phonetic writing (such as anough).

Here's a couple examples. I have no clue how they got to this state, I'm just looking through some saves.

(Actually, I do remember that I bought the spices from the nomads. I had an empty cart when I bought them, as I'd just dropped off a full load of water to make them hate me a bit less).

I've checked the faction reward loop, seems fine. Trading spice is a macro, which is used everywhere in the markets. I don't think it's broken. Well just checked how often space is mentioned inside the game - its over 400 times. Inside the code with a reference to a variable change: 176. I will need to check them all, but not today.

Try to enter the royal hunters outside CC when you can't. Don't try to sneak in. You're in.

I bought a fencers dagger in the slums. I can't find it in my inventory.

treasure box - chance to open 3. 3 what? 3 blind mice?

Infinite movement works different in Desert (Keep) City and HC - does not retain focus between moves.

desertcapital.cfg, line 452: Move [store_gold].

Exploring my ore mine, I tried to break a wall with my pick but I didn't have enough stamina. Now every time I end next to a wall (or ore) it gets broken down.

In the doghouse, every time I choose reset I get a new dog (as in I now have 8 dogs following me around).

Thanks for your reports.

- Fencersdagger - indeed this was broken and had a deprecated code from around 6-8 years ago :oops:, when the inventory did not have numeric value (why ever I did this in the past).
- treasure box: added a % sign, it's not by 100% correct, but should get close to it
- royal hunters - a copy paste mistake, I fixed it
- yeah, usually I use a macro for this, but in that two (or more :p) cases I did not use it, also the doggy doesn't follow in desert city, so I fixed this now
- why the heck the wml checker allows store inside a while? it is fixed now
- it is intended to walk through the mine like that, making digging way more charming as in the amazing add-on dwarf dwarfson dwarvenminer, provided by your local dealer for a fair price, wait no, strike that, its free. Even so it was coded by a real champion of his craft. But back to the topic: You still can break stones using the helpmenu, but it is way more expensive considering the stamina, but it will provide you with material such as coal, iron or even mithril once your skill is high enough. My bad - stamina isn't subtracted at it was intended. I fixed that now: so now digging through stones will now cost you 1 stamina per turn, mining ore is free for now. Maybe I will change the whole way mining works and will allow the player to dig through mines, when he has at least on pick in his inventory. So he can activate or deactivate the skill. But this will come in a later version.
- The reset companion option was some kind of emergency option and so spawned the same unit with the same id, so loading an saving will destroy these units, but it was indeed a sloppy approach. I added a kill order without firing actions, which will prevent additional Puschels or Wuschels or Doggys to spawn and they will not appear in the recall list.


also fixed:

- wildlifeskill icon did no longer worked, because I renamed everything to "wildlife"

other ideas for the new version:

- elements as companions
- attacks for companions based on empathy
- cooking will require three ingredients now, maybe even a minigame discovering new recipes
- some kind of carrots and rice to improve farming
- some kind of plant companion to improve farming

Epic monsters didn't want to spawn due to Winter.

accepting an elite monsters hunt from cityguards causes my game to crash, making saving mandatory.

Is there anywhere where I can get an FAQ about Armies?

Hi Leopardo,

thanks for playing and your reports. Concerning the Winter Epic Monsters: In older versions this bug might still be active. It was reported a while ago and I have already fixed and tested it. Can you tell me in which version of battle for Wesnoth do you play?

Army FAQ: Armies are expensive and can be hired either by hiring mercenaries, or by befriending a faction and ask them for an army. It can be used to conquer cities, scout cities, discard most of the random events as well as global events such as conflicts. You can also use them to attack other factions by plundering or taking slaves. Each use will "destroy" the army, it will disband. I was thinking about adding war craft or art of war as a skill that prevents disbanding, but so far it is a pretty simple concept.

I don't have much time currently and won't be any time better for the next months.

1.14.5 Battle for Wesnoth app on android via F-Droid.

Updated to 1.14.17 Latest Android port, just right now tonight.
