It is written here that ukrainian translation maintainer is Sergiy Tkach (Apromix), but i have no idea how contact to him...
Re: Ukrainian translation
that's probably because most ukrainians speak russian fluently. and i guess even those that don't wouldn't have much problems playing the game in russian. but hey - you could make a difference^^
Re: Ukrainian translation
yes, i know that most ukrainians understand russian, but why no one translate game into ukrainian? many open source programs is translated, but not this one.Max wrote:that's probably because most ukrainians speak russian fluently. and i guess even those that don't wouldn't have much problems playing the game in russian. but hey - you could make a difference^^
So, i start to translate it, but work alone it will be difficult...
Re: Ukrainian translation
Personally I was not aware that there is an Ukrainian translation and because of this there are no po files created for this language. If you want to start such a translation, please have a look at this wiki page to get an idea what your task as maintainer would be (since I know of nobody else you as "starter" of the translation would become the maintainer). Then I need to know stuff like the langcode used for the Ukrainian translation. Basically I'd prefer to get an Ukrainian version of this file: ru_RU.cfg. Once I got this I can create the translation files for you and you can (shortly afterwards) download the po files and get started with the translation.robson wrote:Yes, I saw it, and its too strange - many poeple translate game into russian, but translation into ukrainian...Max wrote:http://wiki.wesnoth.org/UkrainianTranslation

Regarding the (old) wikipages you found: There is a forum user with the nickname "Apromix" though his last login was in 2009 which is basically the last edit date from the wiki page, so assume this translation is rather dead at the moment. What I'd recommend is, to get a fast start if you want to work on this translation, to take the wiki pages and the existing translations on the linked pages and enter them in the po files once they are created.
Feel free to ask me any questions you got. It might be easiest to ask some of the questions using IRC. I tend to be around in the channel #wesnoth-dev on irc.freenode.net regularly and there are several other people in there who can help with translation questions, too. Which is no surprise since many of our devs are non native English speakers and have lend a helping hand to their mother tongues translation every now and then.
Re: Ukrainian translation
Since I care, I decided to whip up data for a uk_UA.cfg:
Hopefully, I got everything right.
Code: Select all
[locale]
name="Українська (Ukrayins’ka)"
sort_name="Ukrayins'ka"
locale=uk_UA
[/locale]
Re: Ukrainian translation
I'm going to make some updates to the translation, including some questionable ones.

Re: Ukrainian translation
Чудову фічу побачив: можна налаштувати генератор випадкових назв на свою мову.
https://github.com/wesnoth/wesnoth/blob ... nglish.cfg
Ось так можна налаштувати локалізацію, щоб вона генерила "Великі бочаги", "П’ятихвістки" і "Сухий гай".

Re: Ukrainian translation
Привіт, чи є хтось живий? Хочу повідомити, що я узявся перекладати Веснот українською і, оскільки переклад вважався неактивним вже багато років, я тепер головний. Якщо хтось хоче допомогти, то, будь ласка, пишіть.

Дякую, успіхів!
Re: Ukrainian translation
Дякую, не очікував, що мені хтось відповість, та ще й минулий перекладач. Я тільки що відновив та переробив статтю на вікі весноту щодо українського перекладу(https://wiki.wesnoth.org/UkrainianTranslation). Можеш, будь ласка, зайти та перевірити, чи всіх перекладачів я додав?

Це вже не нові події, але хочу продублювати, якщо хтось не бачив:
1. Було досягнено 90% перекладу основної гри, тому буде офіційно додана підтримка української мови;
2. Перекладено сторінку в Steam(https://store.steampowered.com/app/5993 ... or_Wesnoth)
3. Перекладено сторінку оновлення 1.18(https://www.wesnoth.org/start/1.18)
