Great Multiplayer Map

Post by Glowing Fish »

I've discovered a great Multiplayer Map, hidden in plain sight.
Its "The Midlands", which is a scenario from The Rise of Wesnoth.
It is fairly symetrical and balanced, without being bizarely so. Its also small enough that it doesn't take forever to play. And it has a nice river running through it, for some interesting tactical challenges.
Its pretty easy to copy it to your /maps/multiplayer directory, and then write a configuration file for it.

Oh, and I also want to try out "The Rise of Wesnoth", but I think I would have to edit the map, since whoever gets stuck on the island really doesn't have much to do.

I tried The River Road in about four computer vs. computer games. It seems to be very weighted towards the South and East Players.

I agree, the Midlands is a good map for multiplayer, but you probably need to adjust castle sizes for the other three players. I've already edited my scenarios.cfg to include it (and erase some of the other pre-selected ones like Isle of the Dead).

Have you come across any more maps in the meantime? Good idea, BTW!

Wouldn't Blackwater Port be nice if you take away Konrad's keep..?
