I'm unable to beat the princes Li Sar trying to cross the great river. Any advice?

You're meant to run, not to try and defeat her.

And you're supposed to make use of your loyal mermen from the Bay of Pearls. Don't recall too many of your regular veterans, except flying shaman types for example, or Elvish Rangers/Avengers, who are also quite mobile in shallow water and are able to use their range attack against the orcs. Apart from that, just a couple of cannon fodder lvl1 elves to face Li'Sar's troops and make them waste one or two turns to track them down. And then as many mermen as possible to confront the oncoming orcs and shield your slow and defenseless heroes in the water from loyalist pursuers and sea creatures.
