An obvious edit of the shaman like that is unlikely to be accepted into mainline without suitable replacement artwork, and I doubt even campaign developers have a use for something so unoriginal.
If I were in your place, I'd be working on a unique unit first and the FX for it later. (But then again, I'm no artist.)

What the heck, I need a break from work anyhow. As an animation, my uninformed opinion is that the body could really use some more motion (not the "sliding" it currently does), and you need some "dying-down" frames at the end. The only part of the body that moves is the right arm - think about trying something radical, such as having it spin around, or crouch, or something that really changes its body posture. Even if it doesn't end up being used, it will give you some good experience at fundamentally extending a sprite.

Ditto. As the forger of our current animations for ... well, all healing in the game (not counting the tribalist, which I'm replacing), I can say with certainty that you must ... "modify the pose of the body," yet in fact I would suggest keeping the position stationary.Quensul wrote:What the heck, I need a break from work anyhow. For my shaman animation, I made her jump - to make it look like she was actually jumping, rather than sliding around, I had her dress interact with the air.
