Re: Eleazar's Terrain Improvements
Do you mean desert vs sand (A&B vs C&D)? That is true. Or that B is sharper than A? That is subtle, if true. Would it be worth leaving those in for the random map generator? Or can/could the generator deal with embellishments? (I looked at the trunk SVN to see what updates were done to the ...

Re: Eleazar's Terrain Improvements
Looks good.
Is it just me, or do the desert tiles with stone details look much sharper than the ones without?

Re: Replacing the desert mountains
Tried to break away from the "beehive" shape and make it less fuzzy.

Re: Evaluation of Terrain and Improvements
Any objections, concerns, or ideas should be stated before i do a huge amount of work. Sounds ok to me to make them somewhat less wide. The only remark I have is that I think your example take it a bit to far. It would be good to try to break up the transition so it doesn't look so perfectly circul...

Re: Evaluation of Terrain and Improvements
Do you plan to finish all the terrain you have added? No transitions have been updated to match the new tiles that I can see. Off the top of my head the 3 grass terrains are the only ones that don't exactly match their transitions (though it is fairly close). I'd like to redo flat terrain transitio...

Re: Evaluation of Terrain and Improvements
I have some freelance jobs i need to pay attention to now, so i won't be producing tiles like i was, but i'll try to stay in touch, so that other folk's work on terrain, especially the water isn't hindered. Do you plan to finish all the terrain you have added? No transitions have been updated to ma...

Re: Evaluation of Terrain and Improvements
Very nice Eleazar.
Harmonizing the colors made a much larger impact than initial had imagined.
I also like the new flat terrains a lot, looks much more alive. And good idea about moving more stuff into overlays.

Re: Evaluation of Terrain and Improvements
I'd basically like to see the mountains come out exactly like what this guy posted for FreeCiv. In fact, I'd love to get him involved if he's interested. http://forum.freeciv.org/viewtopic.php?t=6046 Those are rendered tiles. I can't draw like that and neither do they give me any inspiration for sh...

Re: Evaluation of Terrain and Improvements
Made it look less cone-like to make that aspect less distracting. Jetryl, eleazar: thoughts on the color choices? Would like some feedback on that before I make more variants. Color choice is great, but IMO it still needs some significant reshaping. It doesn't look like real mountains do, yet - it'...

Re: Evaluation of Terrain and Improvements
* Tropical forest is very fuzzy. Best would be a replacement with similar style as the new forest, but a quick touch-up could be to sharpen them Perhaps the tropical could be sharper, but i think the new deciduous forests, while a very nice piece of work, go too far in the direction of sharp, clean...

Replacing the desert mountains
Made a quick test tile so we have something to discuss.
Edit: I split this topic from Eleazar's thread. With all the new excellent terrain from Eleazar we should try to get the old desert mountains replaced as they start to look very dated.

Re: Evaluation of Terrain and Improvements
Some thoughts: * Oasis also have these very vibrant colored plants, could also need an adjustment * Tropical forest is very fuzzy. Best would be a replacement with similar style as the new forest, but a quick touch-up could be to sharpen them * Desert hills, hue is off compared to other desert art *...

Re: Snow mountains
Toned down the blue and added some brown/grey patches. Don't think I will go much further than that with the barren patches.
