Re: The Earth's Gut for BfW 1.16
Hello! While it might have been nicer to ask, I feel flattered anyway. So you are now the new maintainer of my campaign, congrats! The original repository was on wesnoth-umc-dev: [svn-remote "svn"] #url = https://wesnoth-umc-dev.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/wesnoth-umc-dev/trunk/The_Earths_...

Re: I won colosseum on pro with 3 units.
Interesting. Thanks for figuring it out. I always failed with strategies which try to kill units quickly, rather than not even trying to get more than 30g and focusing on defense instead. I just did it almost the same way. Not particularly difficult, no planning which unit attacks where and such. I ...

Re: Abandoned Campaigns - Need Maintainers - Open to Anyone
Hey guys, wanted to know: is The Earth's Gut still maintained? It's great, but Anonyssimuss is gome somewhere. Thanks. In principle yes. I was planning to update/adapt/maintain my addons when it is about time for the next stable wesnoth release (1.14). Looks as if this might happen this spring. The...

Re: Birth of the Empires space TBS game (open source)
I'd like to get it working on my laptop, so I tried installing it on WINE but the botea7finalsetup.exe gives me an error "ERROR-13-0x80004002". :hmm: I can run it under wine with ubuntu trusty, never got such error. Only thing I always had to do is set up wine to use the GdiPlus.dll that ...

Re: Python Toolchain - Moving forward.
One of the main problems with wmllint and wmlscope in my opinion always was the point that they are using their own ways of preprocessing wml, redundant code to the C++ preprocessor, with a lot of bugs/differences. wmllint is unable to spellcheck translatable strings hidden in macros for instance. C...

Re: RNG compensation
slightly offtopic: On the UMC server there's still Less luck era. The approach attempted there was to slightly increase/decrease the chance to hit whenever a miss/hit occurs. That fails as it basically makes all defenses 50%; I had added a statistical test case with a berserker and an insane HPs ade...

Re: Forgiving and Unforgiving Hardcore Mod (a.k.a. permadeat
I'd like to see the campaign master player who reloads/restarts the campaign when loosing a leader or loyal unit. Is that what the unforgiving mode is about ?! The people reporting in the feedback threads, playing at the highest difficulty, always allow scenario restarts. Scenario restarts already t...

Re: The program can not run
Please post stderr.txt: On Windows, locate the file stderr.txt . If you have installed Wesnoth in the default location, that would be C:\Program Files\Wesnoth\stderr.txt — “Program Files” might be translated to your system’s native language. Search for the file if you can’t find it. Windows Vista an...

Re: how lively this community is?
how many regular visitor are here on the forums? I don’t handle numbers for this, but I’d say it’s somewhere around two dozens or so nowadays. We’ve seen better times. I can name 10 or so open source games out of the top of my head that have a less active community. Wesnoth is by far the largest on...

Re: any link about minimum requirements of wesnoth?
After a few months, the older computer decided that it had enough and its main supply got fried Can you send me the rest of it ? xD Keep it until you have available some power supply and reinstall an OS, so there's a fallback PC. :) My stronger machine is like yours but I use Lubuntu anyway. I refu...

Re: any link about minimum requirements of wesnoth?
I originally wrote this into the corresponding FAQ question, but it's too chatty and subjective for an agreed standard and better suits the forum: I happened to set up a 1GHz 512MB RAM machine with win xp and a GeForce2 MX/MX 400 with corresponding drivers. This is hardware from about 2000. Scrollin...

That's not the way one should behave in a forum I'd say.

mkdir build cd build cmake .. -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -DENABLE_BOOST_FILESYSTEM=OFF make -jN sudo make install You forgot a cd .. step here it seems, so that make finds files etc. Can't the mkdir build, cd build, .. and cd .. steps just be left away though ? This build dir used to be created aut...

Re: The Settlers of Wesnoth; NEW: "NO DOWNLOAD NEEDED"
And clicking turn done requires an extra click all the time. It's this way since another certain someone reworked wesnoth's theming stuff, while it used to work in 1.10 IIRC. I don't know anything about theming and generally care little about UI bugs, maybe won't fix it. That extra click when hittin...

Re: inserting into tables out of bounds
It was much easier than I thought. A table of the form { [2] = ... } is still valid, just not via using table.insert(). Instead of table.insert(a, 2, 3); one can do (much more common, actually) a[2] = 3; without the need of something being at [1]=. That way one can choose to have an out-of-bounds ch...
