Re: Weapons in Wesnot
I don't think there is a database listing units specifically by weapons they use, but you can view units' attacksy in the Wesnoth units database . Icons for attacks should be located in your BfW folder (data/core/images/attacks), though some campaigns and eras add their own (e.g. campaigns/Dead_Wate...

Re: good orcs ?
I can't help but find it amusing that you folks opened this big can of worms and then ultimately ended up a full 360º back around to where it began. ;) I dare say that by standarts of Internet discussion it's still a decent result. :D Sure we brought up Nazis and the genocide in Rwanda, but we do i...

Re: good orcs ?
Aren't the german Nazis the prototype of "always evil" themselves? I don't mean to turn this into a discussion on the "Third Reich", please don't. I'm just referring to, well, something like "logical reasoning". So, no offense, Telchin, but now that you mencioned "...

Re: good orcs ?
@Midnight_Carnival - You seem to frame your post as being in disagreement with me (and/or Crushmaster), but I don't think that your and my views are in conflict. I didn't claim that all protagonists must be pure good or that villains can't represent order. The mainline campaigns alone have at least ...

Re: good orcs ?
I agree with most people in this thread that having orcs as always evil is indefensible and that there is room for improvement in their portrayal in mainline campaigns. Wesnoth already tries to have non-evil orc in some places (e.g. second scenario of the Hammer of Thursagan), but not only most of t...

Re: How to save Wesnoth
First, I'm not sure if comparison with MOBA games is valid as they are primarily (if not exclusively) multiplayer oriented, while Wesnoth originated as a singleplayer game (David White wanted to make a game that would be easy to make a competent AI for). Many primarily singleplayer games (and probab...

Re: Inky's Quest - The Cuttlefish Campaign
I should apologize to TreefeedXavier for ignoring his (?) update of the Russian translation for a whole week  . The truth is that my notebook broke down and I also still had some boring school stuff to do (I passed my state exam from criminal and administrative law :) , but I still have one fr...

Re: What campaigns feature you playing as a monster?
It's probably shameless to advertise my own creation, but by your description I think you might like it. My UMC is called Inky's Quest (currently on 1.12 server) and is about sea monsters (particularly cuttlefish). Just like you I was bored with most mainline factions being just humans by another na...

Re: Inky's Quest - The Cuttlefish Campaign
Thanks! I've updated the Czech translation ( version 1.4.6 ) and some lines might be more eloquent in Czech than in English (as the former is my native language). That said the German and Russian translation are still not updated as I don't speak those languages (well, I speak a bit German, but not ...

Re: Inky's Quest - The Cuttlefish Campaign
Version 1.4.5 - I've added the updated Japanese translation and abilities as provided by tamanegi in the above post. I'll need some help with other translations - I know that updating a .po file needs a .pot file, but I don't know how to make one. The wiki seems to have some intructions, but they se...

Re: Inky's Quest - The Cuttlefish Campaign
Thanks for your feedback, Inky! I'm glad that you liked my campaign (thought with that username you're bound to ) I've released new version (1.4.4) that should fix those typos (I'm not sure if it doesn't break some of the translations, as I haven't tested it).

Re: Inky's Quest - The Cuttlefish Campaign
Version 1.4.3 released! It's same as 1.4.2 except for the Russian translation provided by TreefeedXavier above. Inky's Quest is thus avaible in five languages (two of them even use non-Latin alphabets). So kudos to Treefeedxavier and othe translators. :) In other news - during the Chrismas holidays...

Re: Introduce yourself here!
Hi! My name is Vojta, I am from Czech Republic. First, I need to apologize for my poor English, but I hope I will improve my skills in time. I just came here to discuss my favourite game, to learn the community and... well, we will see. The forum seems to be full of interesting things to explore. N...

Re: How did you find out about Wesnoth?
I apologize if this counts as thread necromancy, but I've already explained how I've found Wesnoth in an older incarnation of this thread . The reason I had the urge to mention it is that the website where I've found about Wesnoth has recently posted a review (Czech language) of Wesnoth's new versio...
