Re: 1.4.4 Mac Binary Problem?
Thank you, anakayub. The new binary works a treat. I will try the 1.5.2 this weekend to see if i can pinpoint the problem. Now can i ask that the installer be modified to allow for alternate destination folders? My /Application directory is too busy, so i put all my games in a separate folder. I kno...

1.4.4 Mac Binary Problem?
I've been happily using 1.2.8 on my Mac [OS X.4.11/G5 PPC] for quite some time. I just downloaded the new build and there seems to be a problem with the Universal Binary vs. the supporting libraries. It seems to install just fine, but won't start. The log file shows this: dyld: Library not loaded: /...

Re: Wesnoth 1.2.5
The MacOSX binary is ready, keep in mind that OSX 10.3+ is required: I appreciate that the binaries are supplied by volunteers, and not by the project proper. Nonetheless, i wanted to comment that i find it frustrating that different versions of the Mac binary keep changing the hotkeys. Some binari...

Compiling 1.2.5 on YDL
First off, let me thank all the fine folks that have been supplying me with binaries all this time. Now i'm experimenting with Yellow Dog Linux on PowerPC. It's supposed to be an offshoot of Fedora, but has so far not been able to use the Fedora repositories. Thus, for once i have had to compile Wes...

Wiki Posting
The mainline campaign "Under The Burning Suns" currently has no walkthrough on the wiki. I am currently writing such a walkthrough, but my BfW login does not work in the wiki. Is it better/easier to forward a text document to a person with wiki access, or for me to get wiki access myself?

Another Unlucky Soul
Actually, it seems as though the AI player uses "loaded dice"! Regardless of the stated chance to hit, my attacks all miss more often than should explained by the statistics; the enemies must move like agents in that movie "The Matrix". In contrast, the bad guys hit more often th...

Ambush emblem applied inappropriately
I'm curious if anybody else can reproduce this event i recently noticed: I have an Elvish Ranger hiding in woods. When i click on him, i see the body outline under his XP indicating he's in ambush mode. While the Ranger is still active, i happened to pause the cursor over an Elvish Avenger in hills....

Randomness & AI
So: either the AI should have a little less resources (as to allow you to win with decent planning and suboptimal luck) or the randomness should be reduced - let's say with the damage based around a bell curve, and average damage being REALLY likely. When i play it seems that the random number gene...

Excessive Logging?
I've been a big fan of BfW since at least v 0.8. I'm currently using the Mac build of v 1.02. Anyway, i now see that my console.log is rapidly approaching 128MB in size. The vast majority of the lines in said file are from BfW - mundane trivia generated from every load & save. Since BfW is now s...

What?
Now that i'm able to beat Jake in Landfall, i get this other weird thing that happens: after killing Jake, a drake happens to land on the peninsula @ 7,18. Malakar is immediately teleported to 7,19 & surrounded by some new humans - complete w/ the message that i've just been defeated. Since i'd ...

Do you have the 3.0 beta? IIRC, I attempted to fix it, although I may have added them after I uploaded to the campaign server. Dunno. I see the version # on the server, but don't see any version info in my campaign folder. My 1st save file for this campaign is dated 28 Oct, which is most likely the...

I'm working my way through FtF now. I like that it's so different from the run of the mill campaign. Case in point: 'Survival'. Who else would introduce a campaign through an unwinnable scenario. It's not bad enough that you're sending 1st level defenders against 3rd level attackers, but when human ...
