Re: Revising the HttT Text & Dialogue
All right, I'm at about 90% on S10. Took a vacation from writing for the past week. Here's an explanation of the new results/consequences table. This is brainstorming only. I'm sympathetic towards the idea in general, but making hostile gryphons appear in S11 would be pretty difficult to balance wit...

Re: The breakthrough of the siege
If you're looking for tips, you might try this thread (someone's previously posted difficulties with that very scenario). In general, I often find it is more helpful to search the forums for something someone has already posted than to post a new thread myself.

Appeal to neki from a Wesnoob
neki, please: reopen your youtube account! I want need to continue my study of your commentaries to decrease my multiplayer noobishness! And yes, I am aware of the unfortunate situation surrounding your departure and I empathize with your response. Unabashed, I still appeal to your sense of ge...

Re: Call for completing the hero descriptions
I'll take HttT since I'm already rewriting the text . EDIT: Also, I suggest renaming the page "Character Descriptions (Mainline Campaigns)" or "Notable People of Wesnoth (Mainline Campaign Characters)" or "Prominent Characters of Wesnothian History" or something similar...

Re: Revising the HttT Text & Dialogue
Intro 0.9 do you mean v0.8 (the current working version)? EDIT: Planning for S10: Gryphon Mountain While the feedback for S9 comes in, I need to start planning for S10. The writing and mechanics of Gryphon Mountain are just silly; if I have to defend that statement with details, I will. Hopefully i...

Re: Revising the HttT Text & Dialogue
1) Kalenz creating holy water on the spot. They are going to run into more undead and other arcane-vulnerable enemies in later scenarios, and naturally one would expect that he can repeat the feat when needed, but inexplicably he never will. Yep— that needs fixin'. 2) Moremirmu knowing that the val...

Re: HttT Text & Dialogue
Whew. Ok, S9: Valley of Death v0.3 is up. Feedback, please — and let me know if the dialogue forks are totally incomprehensible. There are a large number of possibilities given Moremi's state at scenario beginning and end. There is a lot of text here, but keep in mind that a given player will never ...

Re: Wesnoth lore, idioms and phrases braindump
How mature is your audience? The suffixes and prefixes below can be switched and swapped to create endless possibilities of varying offense! For prefixes, anything associated with the ground or metals should do: Ground-, Dirt-, Soil-, Iron-, Steel-, Tin-, Rock-, Stone-, Hill-, Gravel-, Sh*t-... For ...

Re: HttT Text & Dialogue
Previous Scenarios: 1) As pointed out, the normal level dialogue in Siege still advocates rushing the enemy... this is not a good idea. 2) It still doesn't really make sense for them to let Li'shar go Yep. Reworking these two sections right now, thanks for the feedback! Undead Origins: Maybe there ...

Re: [interface] Allow unit renaming from recall list
Honestly, I only want this for flavor- although I'm impressed that other people have come up with more practical reasons as well. I like naming units; to track kills/events, and just for fun. I'm not saying it's everyone's cup of tea, but it is mine. :) Since it's for flavor only, I'm only suggestin...

Re: HttT Text & Dialogue
Ok, Valley of Death. Here are the options: 1. Textual facelift with minor scenario changes only. See S9 Valley of Undeath v0.1 v0.3 for an example of my (unfinished) (first draft) efforts to do so. This option includes possibly writing geopolitics into the liches, alternate motivations, and anything...

Mechanics/Traits/Ideas Sandbox
Updated 11/8/2011 I'm intending this to be a repository for my ideas that are not related to mainline. This is not a feature request thread, or a mainline-implementation request thread, or a "devs, you should do this" thread, or a "change wesnoth into THIS sort of game" thread. ...
