I'm trying to learn the ropes of sprite art, and studying the mainline sprites, I've noticed there isn't much in the way of anti-aliasing in them. Since the engine supports full alpha channel, it must be a stylistic feature.
As aliased, the sprites have sharp edges, which make them stand out...

So, does anyone know how I would create a pic of a giant floating crystal? I've gotten two friends to try (one of which is very good at spriting), and none of us can do it. It's for a unit, so I can't do anything that is fixed to the ground.

In the help files pictures the female naga has much smaller ears then the male. But the small pictures used in game play dont show this as much. I like to know if my naga is male or female, I've noticed others usually refer to their naga's as female. :lol:

This guy will be called a Drone, and he will be a lvl 0 unit in my faction i plan to create. Is he too small for a lvl 0? too big? I think i did well with him, except for the legs. I dont do legs well. The name of the faction will be the Skaenids....
I finally did some meaningful work on the sprites for my Talamh era/setting , I thought I'd post them here and see if anyone has any thoughts.
So far, I only have the Azaysu faction - a race of highly-telepathic 'little grey men' who have (unintentionally) invaded Talamh after being forced to flee...
