You're the man!
If you are going to tweak Elyssa anyway, would it be too much to ask for a bit of magical flame floating up from inside the book? (Assuming it wouldn't take long.)

Awesome Naga and Elyssa! Maybe we should disallow the silver mage upgrade for her in the campaign?
Great Melusand (apart from my issues with the pose itself)!
I look forward to see how the cutting/cropping will be done!

As everyone else has already said, so I will also say:
Once again wow! Awesome! Impressive!
Your artwork looks fantastic and I love the details you have added! I am especially a fan of the Naga and Merman because of their general greatness!
Thank you very much for these portraits, and for the massive contribution you have made to Wesnoth!

Playing Wesnoth since 2010, still there is so much left to play

And that's a wrap indeed ! I'm glad to have seen this through at last, my thanks to everyone for your feedback and appreciation. Shadowm mentioned tight delays, but they would not have been had I not gone off to limbo land a couple times myself; my gratitude to the team for their patience and understanding in what must have been the longest Wesnoth commission to date.
Anyway, I'm attaching below the final Elyssa for reference. I might do fixes and a couple more UtBS portraits in the near future (I'm itching to paint the troll and dwarf heroes ^^), but that's it for 1.14.
I think we now can safely call this commission concluded.

It's all done, and I'm late to the party again, but I was going through UtBS and realized Zhul's image looked pretty odd at the face (the rest is more than fine, of course). She has hair thick enough to put in that fat braid, but still thin enough that we can see her eye through it? Yet not her cheek or jaw.
I realize this image was done under time-pressure, I'm not trying to be a jerk. But I do think this needs to be fixed at some point. This image hopefully shows what I mean: (I don't think it would take much time to fix.)

You're right it's an easy fix, thanks for pointing it out. I went back and forth on this a couple times when painting her, caught between showing an eye or hiding it, so your being bothered helps make the call. Could be indeed the answer lies in the thick braid. I did the same for the generic druid's eye but since her hair is thinner and darker it's less of a problem and so I kept it identical for Zhul. Shouldn't have.
She is due for a rework anyway, I'm not completely happy with how her upper body turned out. Her posture doesn't read that well, probably due to lighting inconsistencies on her arms and shoulders.
