How convenient for a lazy bugger like me. My choice was listed first. Debian. : )
Re: [POLL] What Operating Systems do you use Wesnoth on?

Unstickied given the poll's age, there's no way to update the poll options, and we can get similar information from the Steam/SourceForge download counts.
99 little bugs in the code, 99 little bugs
take one down, patch it around

cool, is that info published somewhere on the site or would that make it too easy to game?

For SourceForge it'd just be the weekly downloads of the .dmg vs the .exe files of the most recent version. The steam stats aren't publicly available, but I doubt there's a practical way to game them (plus we don't actually use the percentage of OS usage for anything anyway).

But that doesn't include Linux…Pentarctagon wrote: ↑July 25th, 2020, 7:31 pm For SourceForge it'd just be the weekly downloads of the .dmg vs the .exe files of the most recent version.

i use windows xp for wesnoth tooSigurdFireDragon wrote: ↑July 24th, 2017, 3:32 am The purpose of this poll is to get an idea of what platforms are being used by our forum members. Note that OS's not currently receiving regular security updates (macOS 10.9 & earlier and Microsoft Vista & earlier) are not listed in the poll. For these, please use 'None of the Above' and comment in this thread.

I wonder if it'll run on my Windows 98 SE. Unlikely I imagine. Probably requires more than 128 MB of RAM. I won't speculate about my Windows 95C or my DOS 6.22 or my DOS 3.2 or my C=128 & Atari 800... <grin> Hmmm how to squish Wesnoth into 48 KB of RAM... well that's OK, someone once squished Star Raiders into 8 KB! Good enough. Brilliant in fact. God those old computers are magnificent.
As the narrator from Spongebob says "4 years laturrr." I did actually run (couple years back) 0.3 on Win98SE and it worked fine. So I guess I'll have to update my vote with a second tick under other. : )

Now I'm using Windows 8, but before had a Linux - RHEL. I feel much more comfortable with Windows 8.

MacOS Big Sur
iOS
But the iOS version has a very buggy MP experience. Ways to crash the app: idle in the lobby, scrolling the games in lobby, after DC when the display locks too long, end/quit any game. Turnaround has been to quickly join/observe a game from lobby and turn off auto-display lock and keep it continuously on.

Take a breath.

Usually I use Window$ 7 to play Wesnoth, because I'm not good at using GNU/Linux.
Re: [POLL] What Operating Systems do you use Wesnoth on?
Interesting that Windows in total beats the Linux users in total by a bit (numbers-wise that is). But not that much. I found that interesting.
Normally Linux ranges in about 3% of the total percentage. Granted, gamers will show another percentage ratio
but still I found it interesting.
