20101225 21:13:16< kahoot> Basically when in battle, if you go to menu - preferences then close the dialog for a brief moment the menu at the top left disappears. it also disappears for about 2 seconds sometimes if done when a unit is attacking another.

There seems to be no need for the gui > redraw everything at the end of the function, although it's hard to say definitely since I'm new to looking at the code.
