In which you run from floodwaters through an abandoned sanctuary into a desert valley. 20190408 01:37:19<+wesdiscordbot> And as someone who has never played the level before, it is extremely first time-player unfriendly.\ 20190408 01:38:14<+wesdiscordbot> I used the elvish magic flying units as scouts and was constantly running from the floodwaters as they swallowed my units. 20190408 01:38:56<+wesdiscordbot> Then, looking through the replay with the whole map revealed I realized that the water wasn't rising before I hit certain triggers on the map. 20190408 01:39:37<+wesdiscordbot> So essentially by scouting ahead I was making the water rise faster and killing my slower units, something I wouldn't have known except for I decided to go back and look. 20190408 01:40:58<+wesdiscordbot> So here's the suggestion: make the water rise at a constant rate. Have more snaky tunnels for the further away water so that it takes a while to get to the point where it's right on your heals. 20190408 01:41:47<+wesdiscordbot> TL;DR: The water rise in Out of the Frying Pan only triggers when you move your units so it punishes scouting ahead witch is unintuitive for first time players of the map. 20190408 01:42:02<+wesdiscordbot> Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. 20190408 01:51:57<+wesdiscordbot> Yea.. that be counterintuitive having the more you scout the more it floods... 20190408 01:53:13<+wesdiscordbot> It not only punishes slow play and first timers, but can be janked with a fast moving army, destroying any sort of challenge.. 20190408 02:17:03<+wesdiscordbot> I don't think it's that much of a problem that faster units beat the system. And it's not like it's devoid of challenge. Ghosts and foot-based required units mean even if you go all light units, you risk loss to enemies or leaving your slower required units behind. It's more the unexpected, anti-slow player stuff that's an issue IMO. 20190408 02:22:43-!- madmax28_ [~madmax28@2001-4dd3-8f14-0-ba27-ebff-febc-e0cb.ipv6dyn.netcologne.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 250 seconds] 20190408 02:22:55-!- madmax28 [~madmax28@2001-4dd4-fe5-0-ba27-ebff-febc-e0cb.ipv6dyn.netcologne.de] has joined #wesnoth 20190408 04:45:05-!- zookeeper [~lmsnie@wesnoth/developer/zookeeper] has joined #wesnoth 20190408 04:53:49<+wesdiscordbot> @Sorenroy that does sound pretty unintuitive 20190408 05:11:01-!- celticminstrel [~celmin@unaffiliated/celticminstrel] has quit [Quit: And lo! Should I still file it as such? 20190408 16:41:12<+wesdiscordbot> Either that or as a suggestion. Basically write in the title the scenario and what's not good about it and explain it in detail in the issue itself. 20190408 17:01:16< Soliton> well, github calls it issues anyway. so that fits either way. ;-) 20190408 17:22:48<+wesdiscordbot> Hello 😃 I have a question - how can one contribute to translation of BfW to another language? 20190408 17:26:03-!- Haudegen [~quassel@178.115.237.87.static.drei.at] has joined #wesnoth 20190408 17:26:56<+wesdiscordbot> one of the language already existing ? https://wiki.wesnoth.org/WesnothTranslations follow the guide / ask the the persons in language contributors on forums.
