Familiar Looking Art
Hello, Wesnoth Forum Goers! Long time, no see. Fell out of playing and discussing Wesnoth a while back, but I saw something in my Facebook feed that looked very familiar. Isn't this one of Kitty's portraits? http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/do-not-disturb-elves-iceland-diverts-road-protect-faiytale-creature...

Re: The future of online gaming? EVE Online + Dust 514
This video was released last week and is very much relevant to the discussion at hand: one game interacting with another and the possibilities of such interaction for bringing different players together.

Re: What makes a forum popular?
Obviously it is the services that the company supplies besides the forum that brings in forum users. I doubt anyone on this forum has not played The Battle for Wesnoth, or anyone on the Giant in the Playground forums has not read the Order of the Stick webcomic, or anyone at the Ambrosia Software fo...

For Fallout Fans - Fallout: Nuka Break
Perhaps the only fan-made film in existence that does not stink. Great props, great location, great editing, pretty good acting, but I suspect that where this film succeeds where others fail is that it is not overly ambitious in its plot. Most other films would feature gratuitous, and badly done, fi...

Re: Don't Forget Walking Corpse Variations
frankly a gryphon rider zombie would be more useful than just a lone gryphie (since those are used probably only in some campaigns, while riders are default mp units), think you could have a go at that? Actually, I think the lone gryphon WC is more useful because you could simply say the rider fell...

Re: HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2011 and resolutions!
My New Year's Resolutions Project List: 1. Fix up the website. The colors look great on some computers and horrible on others. I may need some help in that regard. 2. Build a backup, solar-powered battery supply for my iPod Touch. I love my relatively new iPod. It replaces my too small iPod Nano an...

I think I was about 5, maybe 7, when my dad and my grandfather introduced me to model rocketry. Buy a launchpad starter kit and an Estees rocket, either one of those pre-assembled decorate it yourself ones, or the Level 1 not to hard to build it yourself ones, and give him a hand building it. Hours ...

Re: Campaign art - Descent into Darkness
Um, in the flats for the older Malin, are you sure you wanted his ear that colour? It's a flat: a rough draft before final coloring and shading. The ear is partially obscured by hair, so it is simpler to simply color it with the surrounding hair color and then add the ear color behind it during the...

You may think otherwise, but I largely consider printed circuit board design and soldering to both be art.

Re: Major's Anims.
This looks like a rather tough one to pull off: too fast and it looks out of character for the Walking Corpse, too slow and it detracts from game play, and there is very little middle ground.

Re: What is everyone's favorite movie at the moment?
I resaw The Matrix 1 and 2. I have to say, brilliant story. I hate it when people get turned off to movies like The Matrix, Terminator, or the game Halo, because it has a lot of killing and cursing. They say: "Oh, it's killing, it's just for people who like death." which covers up the fac...

Re: What are you reading right now?
Sam & Max: Surfing the Highway by Steve Purcell. An awe-inspiring tale of friendship against the harsh, cynical modern world, in which...oh, heck, it's a 6 foot dog in a suit and a fedora and his fluffy, psychotic lagomorph friend bombing about time and space in a very neglected black and white...

Re: Campaign art - The Rise of Wesnoth
I would just like to point out that JustinOperable was working on the Rise of Wesnoth not too long ago ( link ). He started back in December last year. To be honest, however, I kinda like your concepts better, if only because the shading JustinOperable used doesn't look like it quite fits with the r...

Could there be some blood on the kamas as well? I think it would bring more details to the image, and since he's got spilled blood on his thigh... :) The Wesnoth Art Department has this thing about buckets 'o blood (specifically, a big, fat, no). I say the portrait is just fine as it is (after it h...
