Re: 1.10 Campaign: A Rough Life - version 1.1.6
Thank you for the warm welcome, and I did follow your suggestion, Jamie - I downloaded the version from your last post and blitzed through the campaign. And I very much liked what I saw! I don't have a perfect recollection of the original details, but maps seem to have been improved, some helpful hi...

Re: 1.10 Campaign: A Rough Life - version 1.1.6
It has been ages since my last visit here, but I remembered and had to check on an old friend. And lo and behold, not only is BfW still going strong (as I suspected), someone has even kept A Rough Life alive, updated and doubtlessly much improved over my original version (as I could hardly have drea...

Re: 1.6 Campaign: A Rough Life - version 1.0.99
Thanks for dropping by, lostnumber! I am not currently working on ARL (or anything Wesnoth-like), but I am planning to do at least one more revision to port it to 1.8, fix the dialogue and include all the remaining art. The last part, in particular, is what I've been waiting for, hoping to get a set...

Re: A Rough Life
I finished the campaign and I liked it. If was funny to have an elvish princess as a daughter of dwarf king and orks and elves fighting together against monsters. 1. I was never attacked by enemy boss. They only retaliated attacks. The griphon and the scorpion queen looked too passive in comparison...

Re: A rough life - portraits
I will gladly accept them, thanks! The only(!) remaining detail that gives me some pause is the sword. When I compare the two, I see that it is the same as in the portrait of Lieutenant Popper, but it looks somewhat smaller (and narrower) on the portrait of Jacques. If it were possible to "beef...

Re: 1.6 Campaign: A Rough Life - version 1.0.99
Much obliged, Ruksa, both for the wit and the kind words.
Also, you should know that you took the "right" fork of destiny - as you will soon find out if you decide to explore the other one...

Re: A rough life - portraits
Very good work, bera. I am particularly impressed with the clothing of the second portrait, wonderfully done, almost too good for his second incarnation and fit for the third. As for the first one, I think the sword/knife detail will be quite acceptable - perhaps the only other detail which could he...

Re: Hi
Hi, eleefece! Wonderful, simply wonderful. I couldn't quite see all the detail (the images as posted are rather small and not very dark-lined, and I can't read what is written next to portraits B and D), but as much as I could tell, she is lovely and very apt! What did you have in mind with versions...

Re: A Rough Life
Thanks for the detailed and well thought-out feedback, CommieDog! All feedback is much appreciated, and you make several good points. To wit: Note: I played version 1.0.99 of the campaign in version 1.6.5 of the game. (1) Did you like the storyline of the campaign? If not, what would you propose cha...

Re: 1.6 Campaign: A Rough Life - version 1.0.99
thanks! looks much better than my approach... but still doesn't look like something that's reproducible without luck on your side. Hi, Max2008! I think some scenarios, especially the shorter/simpler ones, may sometimes be impossible to plan in such a way that there is no chance whatsoever of gettin...

Re: A rough life - portraits
Welcome back, bera! It seems we were in sync - me checking the forum just as a new post by yourself is up. I trust the military service has successfully been dealt with and you're off the hook now? As far as I'm concerned, I think the portrait is excellent except for one detail that I already mentio...

Re: 1.6 Campaign: A Rough Life - version 1.0.99
Point well taken, sir! I'm a little rusty as to where in the story this phrase appears, but I'll be on the lookout for it once I comb through all the text, and I'll appropriately de-scientise it when spotted.

Re: A Rough Life
Thank you, Sapient, for this feedback. I am very glad that you enjoyed ARL and that you even tackled it in the first place. You also make valid and useful suggestions, which I am happy to fully take on board. When I make further revisions to the campaign and upload version 1.2 (when that is slightly...

Re: A Rough Life
Thank you very much for your feedback, Sapient! I'm very glad you liked it enough to play it though, and flattered that you decided to try it in the first place. I had a different problem with the 5th scenario... I killed the griff boss then looked all over the map and couldn't find the other boss. ...

Re: Hi
Hi, eleefece, first off, thanks for the update and I hope the illness is well behind you! As for the portraits, we all completely understand the demands of real life, as we "suffer" them ourselves. Take your time, I think you should primarily enjoy doing the portraits, and also spend enoug...
