The 'menn' thing is intentional. It's found throughout the Orbivm campaigns to refer to non-human humanoids.
Rage is only supposed to work on offensive, but has been bugged for a while. Thanks for the reminder to fix it.

Ok, I've ported it as it stood in 1.12, seems functional.

I don't think it would, actually, at least if they were just changed to "Elves". Their race is already "elves" in the unit type, the unit names are already "Elvish <name>", their unit type definitions and portraits and sprites are already in "elves"/"elv...

For what it's worth, I always thought those descriptions came from the HttT campaign, clearly from the "rebels" point of view. I never liked the orc/goblin description, but it made sense if you imagined an elf or a toady of Delfador as having written it. Although you're right that could w...

I have played so few of these this year. I don't think I'll have much time to catch up in the next couple of weeks, either, so I'll have to sit out the voting. I was very impressed some of the elements of the ones that I have played already, though, and I look forward to revisiting some of these soon.

I've just release a WIP version of a remake for Fall of Silvium, the Lavinian Legion campaign, for Wesnoth 1.13.
This remake has just 3 of the original 8 scenarios so far, but the changes are pretty significant and I'd value feedback on them if people are keen to revisit an old favourite.
