Re: Scenario 10: Gryphon Mountain
Do NOT look at the code, that probably won't help. DO look at the terrain. You have units which can make it up the mountain before she's in danger. The trick is timing; don't waste a turn: get moving as quickly as possible, choose your path carefully. It's better to arrive in time, too weak, with re...

Re: Scenario 10: Gryphon Mountain
I felt that way until I was working on HttT a couple years ago and did the to-dos. Now, I'd say the scene is more like your good old-fashioned AD&D alignment check. You're playing good, you did evil. Be glad you don't have any Paladins in the party.

Re: Female Avatars
The only one which matters: nobody has done it.
If you feel that strongly about it, design a campaign, test and debug it as UMC, and get people asking for it to advance to mainline.

Ouch. I'd start by re-installing the compiler.

Re: Simple Question.... Carry Over Gold...
The minimum starting gold is set at the start of the scene, and determined by the difficulty. If you ever find a scene which starts with less, either post a replay here or attach one to a GitHub issue; it's a bug and should be fixed. Yes, it's a balancing act on who and when to recruit or recall, wh...

Re: Scenario 10: Gryphon Mountain
I usually get the eggs using slower units. You have to use the terrain to your advantage to get up there quickly, and it can help to send a few flankers around to distract the opponents. I made some changes for 1.14 which you should check out which have to do with how you choose to complete this cam...

On another project where I take Paypal, they take the fee from individuals donating (unless those funds comes from a Paypal balance, which means someone else paid the fee before my donor received them).

Most FAQ are actually QWWUAF (Questions We Wish You Asked Frequently) and they fact they're felt to be needed is either due to inertia (But MOM, **EVERYONE** is doing it!) or poor design (Want to know what this is all about? Don't look at the web page, you need to read the FAQ).

Re: Git branch cleanup
I did my research on how Git and GitHub work. There are a number of SO questions and the answer is always that the commits will not be deleted during "clean-up" they will, however, be candidates for compression. The git "gc" cleans up orphaned files, but does not delete commits s...

Re: Git branch cleanup
Renaming makes no sense to me. But, then, making a branch on the master repository rarely makes sense to me, either. Remember, deletion just removes them from view. The commits making up the branch will still be there and findable in the reflog. So the brand can be resurrected if it should not have ...

Re: Git branch cleanup
I'd say none of them. The merge conflicts are probably so daunting, I'd bet it'd be simpler to start anew any work abandoned for that long.

Re: Best SP Campaigns?
I would expect that one would read a 10- or 15-year old thread about favorite campaigns and wonder where many of those campaigns are.

iirc it must be one of those supported by Boost and we use MT19937 which has good equidistribution.

Re: Another Statistical Measure
The point is, at some point, someone is going to see something happen calculate the odds of that happening as 1-in-10-million, and proceed to claim that it proves something is fishy with "luck" (aka the RNG) when, instead, it proves such long-shot occurances can happen and this actually di...
