Re: Unto Others - A call for participants to play a research scenario
So, it looks like the URL for this thread is already in the "Website" field for this add-on in the add-on manager? Were people requesting a link suggesting that it be put somewhere else, too? Screen Shot 2022-07-04 at 12.24.43.png That's the forum thread I had been using for feedback duri...

Re: Unto Others - A call for participants to play a research scenario
Added, cheers. I'd been hoping that the much-shortened URL would make it easier for people to make that leap, alas. QR code it shall have to be.lhybrideur wrote: ↑July 4th, 2022, 3:07 pm As already mentioned, you should really add the link to the first post of this thread.

Re: Unto Others - A call for participants to play a research scenario
Hi all! I'm a human-computer interaction researcher looking into the expectations that players have of AI in strategy games, among a few other things. One of the things I'm looking into is suspense/tension, and for that purpose I've made a scenario to play through, and a questionnaire to fill out a...

Re: Unto Others - A call for participants to play a research scenario
That's pretty much what's happened so far since release, hence this post for a little bit of visibility :) I suspect if add-ons could be highlighted for some time in the interface, it'd get quite messy with the sheer amount of add-ons that'd like that spotlight. I'm trying a few other things too, bu...

Re: Unto Others - WIP/Feedback
So, I was on intermission from my PhD a while. Came back, and fixed a bug which had managed to spring in right after I'd tested it all, a single comment being uncommented. So, should be actually playable now! The questionnaire's set up too.

Re: Unto Others - WIP/Feedback
I played it through (lost) a few times: 1) Straight fight, no right click. 2) Took the option. 3) Abused the right click menu from turn one. At no point did I see the objectives change, and actually checked them manually to see that they hadn't changed. Pala, and the "allies" fighting hap...

Re: Unto Others - WIP/Feedback
Being defeated by completing the objective is confusing. Seeing teams that are both my allies fight each other. Pala killing one of my units when we are allies. I wonder if you have considered that the player might find the right click menu items before they are introduced by the dialog. Hmm, that'...

Unto Others - WIP/Feedback
Hi! So, I'm back again with another research scenario, and once more it'd benefit from some sanity checking, lest I unleash it on poor souls who are then deeply confused and estranged. This time, you've infiltrated a city under cover of night, allied mages in tow, to end a ritual. Find the ritual, p...

Re: A Study On Tension In Strategy Games
sweet lordy do I need a few participants If you're having trouble finding people, you could try posting in some other places - e.g., Reddit or Steam . That's a good shout - I posted to the reddit moderators but have yet to hear anything back. I'll throw something at the steam community forums thoug...

A Study On Tension In Strategy Games
Hi all! I'm running an experiment to try and figure some things out about tension in strategy games; it involves playing a Wesnoth scenario and then answering a questionnaire, and it should only take half an hour tops. In a nutshell, sweet lordy do I need a few participants, and I'd be incredibly gr...

Interception, an Experiment on Tension
This is a thread asking for players to have a playthrough of the scenario Interception (available via the add-on server), and to fill out a questionnaire afterwards asking about your experiences while playing. It is for research purposes, but it's meant to be fun too, so don't be too terrified :) Yo...

Re: Interception Scenario Testing
Does the scenario drag on for too long? I'm aiming for a maximum of 20 minutes. Any bugs? Don't be shy here; if you think it's even just weird behaviour, feel free to raise it. Does the scenario seem feasible for both sides? I'd appreciate more expert opinions on this; I'm not a downright veteran o...
