[Complete] Hazard Cup - 1v1 Tournament
Hi and welcome to the Hazard Cup! The tournament where you will be fighting not only your opponent!
Rng is the backbone of wesnoth gameplay. Many have said that it alone can turn the tide of a game, and turn losing situations into winning ones. Well we are here to test that today. How well do players fare against uncertainty and back luck, or against maps and matchups that some would consider unbalanced? That is to be seen here.

This time we will be using a russian roulette style cup with every round except the final being a winner takes all of one game.
The number of players allowed to participate is unlimited.
Players will be randomly assigned to challenge one another throughout all of the tournament, there is no knowing who you may face. The players will be playing one game with their opponent to determine the winner. The loser of the 1 game will be knocked out of the tournament while the winner will progress. The only round where that'll be the exception will be the final where it will be a classic best of 3 matches. Below is a template of a tournament with 16 players: Tournament rules:
The registered players must comment on this post stating their wesnoth username.
1. All participants will have One Week to finish their matches with their opponent, this applies to all the stages of the tournament. If you have not been available but your opponent has, then you automatically lose the match determined for that week. If both players do not appear before the week ends both will be disqualified. The replays of the matches played must be posted on this forum thread.
2. The tournament will be played on default era Wesnoth version 1.16.
3. Ladder Adventurous Maps will be used as the random map picker. Shuffle Sides is required. Players will not pick their faction/leader. Always confirm with your opponent that they are ready to start the match before starting.
4. Games should have an 8 min timer (480/300/480/30) If both players agree there can be a no timer.
5. Game names should be named like this: "Hazard Cup - player vs player". For example: "Hazard Cup - Vilebeggar vs Stony Drew". Please stick with this simple naming convention so that it is easy for us to look up games on the replay server.
6. Contacting of opponents will be done on the wesnoth forums, please check them regularly for messages from other players.
7. Cheating and Active harassment will not be tolerated. Please be civil.
8. Observers On is required. I strongly suggest that you mute all observers until after the match is over. The command for this is :muteall Don't risk your game being influenced by observers.
9. All other issues or questions can be brought up to me for clarification.

About time, the veiled one must not win.
Re: [Open] Hazard Cup - 1v1 Tournament
Hi all, i wanna join in this tournament too (Wesnoth username "Sellux"), but this is my first time and i'm not sure how to do.
Then I have to agree with my opponent on this forum to decide when to play the game?
(Will the game be played synchronously or in turns?)
I ask because we have a week to finish the game but only 8 minutes per round and this confused me a bit.
Thanks in advance.
