Wesnoth 0.6.1 has been released

Post by miyo »

Greetings,

0.6 was a dark release for us. Asheviere, the evil queen, captured many core developers and made them insert bugs into the code. These developers have now been freed by band of Elves and we can see a new dawn in Wesnoth development.

Changes:
  • removed plague ability from Wraiths
  • decreased Lich's melee damage by one
  • hitpoints are displayed in red/white/green depending on 1/3, 2/3, full energy
  • display experience in green when unit is near advancement
  • basic support for 800x600 resolution has been added, it still needs a lot work
  • translated manuals: norwegian
  • new translations: dutch
  • autotools: enabled changing datadir name with ./configure
  • autotools: configure stops and gives error messages if libs & includes aren't found
  • fixed Crossroads scenario lacking victory and defeat conditions
  • fixed 'A Choice Must Be Made' defeat conditions
  • fixed bug causing crash on scenario completion
  • fixed 'Storm Trident' mislocation on 'Bay of Pearls'
  • fixed resetting player starting gold, gold per village, player race, and player type when loading multiplayer game
  • change the way images are handled to fix resizing (and other potential) bugs
  • fixed problem where gold was reset to 100 on some scenarios
  • made it so both holy water items in the valley of death work properly
  • fixed bug where using items such as the 'Storm Trident' and 'Sceptre of Fire' could crash the game
  • fixed bug that occurred when the display was zoomed very far out
  • fixed reference counting problem
  • code cleanups
Downloads: server.wesnoth.org is running 0.6.1

Let me assure you that resistance continues, we will not let Asheviere to win this war.

ROTFL.

Our tribe of elvish contributors declares loyalty to all devlopers. we will not let her evil reign to creep along our world claiming more correct code and causing some coders casualties. TO ARMS!

Just wondering, is the SRC for the server ever going to be relased (if its not already) it would be cool if we could start our own servers for a lan game or something....

There are two ways for networked multiplayer, someone can host multiplayer game with his client (on main menu select 'multiplayer' then 'host multiplayer game') ... or you can run wesnothd (the server).

Source for wesnothd can be found under 'src/server/' in the tarball.

The Mac OS X Binary is done.

Now restored to its rightful place on the wesnoth binaries page, so my fairydreams server might just survive :D
